No, it's not even funny to joke hat it would be good in ANY one's opinion.

This shouldn't be in the Film Makers forum. I just saw a preview for it and it looks worse than Thundercas or w/e that kid movie is. The first one was bad enough.

The Mask was a good solid enjoyable film.

This sequel looks awful. I'm going to avoid it like I avoid mingers.

Serp, and anyone else who it may concern:

It's aimed at little kids, your not a little kid, Serpent. Thunderbirds was actually quite enjoyable to an extent, and my kid brother loved it. Sure, this Mask sequel isn't worth cheering for, but at least there is a sequel. I'll see it, but only because my parents'll pay for the ticket if I take my little brother. And, alot of kiddy movies are actually really good. I saw "Are we there yet? " today, and loved it. While I was there, we saw a preview for "The Son of the Mask" and several other kiddy movies, and other people in the theatre were histerical at the numerous previews. They didnt seem to think it was going to be "the worst movie ever", and thats all that matters. (at least it is for the makers of it) So why worry yourself? Is it hurting you? Seriously, theres no need to get in a fuss over something, if your not even gonna see it. Chill. Let those who enjoy it........enjoy it. smile

But... it's the Mask, without Jim Carrey. That's like Singing in the Rain without Gene Kelly.

No. Its like the Mask, without enough money to hire Jim Carrey.

Oh, and there is no Singing in the Rain without Kelly. It's just......well, I shutter to think of it. smile

Just FYI, I was completely joking on about looking forward to this movie. It looks horrible so I wanted to see what you all thought.

And your right, I thought I put it in general chat not filmmakers forum.

Sure

I think you really are looking forward to it; and when everybody went sour on you, you got embarassed and tried to cover it up. eh? smile

No it wouldn't. It would only prove that everyone hates it, by voting "poorly", without eveing seeing the movie itself.

I'll come watch it with you then mate wink

To build upon what er-no has already said... The origional mask was indeed a good, solid fun film. Though, the film was made by Jim Carrey rather than the premise of an ancient mask. The premise just allowed Carrey to go all out, a similiar film without him playing the main role just doesn't appeal to me. And even then, I'm not totally sure I'd want to watch it.

So... looks like I too will be avoiding this one.

I remember when I went to go see ROTK's midnight premeire, there was a teaser for this with the CG baby jumping around, and after the trailer, during that 5 seconds of silence there always is, my friends scremed out "Yeah! Oscar quality!" and the whole crowd roared in laughter. was funny smile

Sorry, I hated the old The Mask. Jim Carrey's worst film IMO. This one looks even worse, due to the crappy kiddy humor, and lack of Jim Carrey. Oh, and sorry to excite you Arktic, I did in fact mean Thunderbirds (or whatever someone said.)

The trailer for that movie disturbs me on so many levels. It seems to completly ignore the backstory as to what the mask does in the original, the cartoony slapstic seems more random then having a reason for why it exists, and casting Nightcrawler as Loki? I mean he dosen't even BAMF once. sad

Anyone get the whole Milo and Otis thing? In the first Mask, the dog was called Milo, in this one the dogs called Otis, Milo and Otis being the name of an old Cat and Dog movie, "...from the Director of Cats and Dogs" get it? *sigh*

Anyone also see both the baby and the dog display Mask powers at the SAME TIME? is there like, two masks? or becasue the kid is the son maybe he's born with cartoony powers that make no sense?

Bah..

It's because people in hollywood are completely retarded, and they think that if there's a baby does funny things, people will automatically love it because it's just SO CUTE! But it comes across as completely retarded.

I forgot to say what I thought about it!

It was actually much much much much WORSE than I could possibly have imagined. Acting sucked, story SUCKED, cinematography was awful, editing was poorly done, sound was okay, effects were good, and the whole thing overall deserves a nice big fat zero.
