Apologies to everyone for the downtime over the weekend. Our system in the States experienced a rather major malfunction which resulted in the whole of FXhome.com being temporarily shut down. The problem has been resolved for now and we're looking into its cause. Apologies to everyone for the inconvenience.

Needless to say, although the website was offline, we were still beavering away on AlamDV3, with development proceeding as normal. We'll have a report on the Oscars going up soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

I knew you guys would be back before long...
The whole time, never lost faith for one second.
Well... then there was that one second I thought you'd decided making ALAM DV III was too hard and you'd just gone bankrupt and decided to rip us all off, BUT, that was just one second.
For the rest I had absolute faith in you guys.

"She'll hold together, here me baby, hold together"
Thanx for all the hard work you guys have done.

I've been on vacation last week and missed everything that has happend on fxhome so when I came back and saw that the website was down I thought I missed the release of AlamDV3 (which I thought had crashed the server) or something.

Or that you guys had gone bankrupt or something.

Or that North Korea had taken over England and turned everybody into mindless zombies to take over the world.

pretty lame wink

I considered the possibility that the guys had finished ADV3, but the government had stormed their building and taken them to a secret installation in Arizona for testing, after confiscating all of the servers. They'd escaped and fled in different directions, where most of them were picked up and taken back to the base. Luckily Schwar was picked up by Elliot Gould and Telly Savalas in a biplane and made it back.

Then he had to retrieve the servers (and the rest of the team), so he mounted a daring rescue by crawling through the ventilation shafts. He freed the others from the maximum security enclosure (deactivating the laser system), and back together as a team, they stormed the main storage centre, grabbed the servers, and stole a Huey.

Unfortunately the range of the Huey could only take them as far as Las Vegas, where they lost the servers in a game of chance. Tarn took the initiative and started a pimping agency, and before long they had enough of a stake for a return game. This time they were successful, and used the winnings to charter a private jet home.

The jet passed through the Bermuda Triangle, and travelled back through time to 1918, where they found the USS Cyclops, believed lost. Trapped in the past, they made their way to Los Angeles, and persuaded Walt Disney to let them use his cryogenic freezing apparatus in return for the idea of Bambi.

Newly defrosted, they came back home to plug the server back in.

Hmm. That Homer in Space episode...

Hey, that downtime is great news!
OK, I know it sounds weird, but here's my explanation:
shortly before Chromanator release I had some major problems with accessing your website (but I believe it was problem on my end then). It was around the weekend I believe too. And in a week or so Chromy was up! So, when I saw that fxhome.com can not be accessed by myself, I thought about to-do list, which clearly says that we're near AlamDV3 biggrin There is obviously a precedent to be seen here biggrin biggrin biggrin
Yeah, I know it sounds freaky, but AlamDV is near us anyway, so it's just a funny little thing I noticed razz
Oh, and I wish you luck with finding the cause of these problems cool

Glad it's up & running again. Was a bit discouraging trying to connect to the site & it not appearing. It didn't cross my mind that it was never going to come back. Shame on you, doubters. Heh. There's gonna be people out there who don't know it's back up yet, & are thinking "Fxhome noooooooooooo". Ha.

I wam glad you are back. But, I had to kill time by getting people to join my forum so more peole posted there. Usually we only have like, 5 people posting at a time, but this weekend it was active as hel with 4 new members posting away. So then I tried to add to the forum, and now it is screwed up. So I have to fix it. :-\

Eeeehhhhh.....yeah.......unfortunately I too had a few calming sessions with Serpent and Ev to cool me down. We all had theories on why the site was down. (Serpent was right, though) Mine involved a large British conspiracy, Xcession, and alot of toothpaste. wink

(I had to post on CPOStudios.com just to ease the pain smile )

Wanna know how bad my luck/timing is? On Friday, I was getting a couple of errors from Chromy so I decided to uninstall and reinstall to put things right... problem is, the uninstaller apparently wiped out my key file. I tried to pull the site up and it's gone. Yep - I effectively locked myself out of Chromy, right before I planned to work on an effects test. I was hitting refresh all weekend long and cursing whatever evil brought the site down. I was twitching from fxhome withdrawal by the time Monday rolled around and I could get on again. Lesson learned, though - I have half a dozen copies of my key file in various locations on my HD (plus I burned a CD with it too.) hugegrin
