Setup for my new documentary...







Here we have a delightful Canon GL-2 with a:

-Power 2000 B-945 battery
-Mamiya shoemount splitter
-Azden shotgunnin' mic
-Canon VL-10Li 10 watter video light (diffuser not shown)

oh well, here's all my kit, except the rain hood, umbrella reflector (silver umbrella, anyway), rubbish tripod, rubbish clapperboard and rubbish megaphone (from tango) biggrin

ah I see, the optura 20 is the model up from mine (the MVX150 has bigger screen, built in light)

in those pictures on the lcd's of the camcorder theres always a stupid picture, theres a bloke in one of the pictures trying to do a melon and not even grabbing board, it's not even a hard trick and they've put a person on there not even doing it... wat is the point?!

Yes, it is a Steadicam Jr. My uncle had one after he was doing some sort of project, so he gave it to me for free. smile

New gear:

When I was in NYC, I popped in B&H. It totally rules.

I got a new SD card (512mb), big battery and neutral density filter, all for about £70. Bargain!

Well, I don't have a camera of my own (alas) sad

But I can use the ls:tv kit anytime, which are these rather spiffy Sony PD100 DVCAM camcorders. They're pretty much broadcast quality - being the kind of camera that's used in fly on the wall type documentaries etc (I think they were used on Airport).



Though we have a much better mic than is shown in that picture.

Also, just for fun, here you can see the Panasonic AJ-DVC200 cameras we use at Uni:


That's a DVCPRO camera with an autocue attached, on a pretty snazzy ped. Here's a picture of the camera on it's own:


Again, they're broadcast quality, and much much fun to use biggrin
