I have a question, instead of using garbate mattes to clone, can you just have the original footage of say me walking around then composite in me in front of a green screen?

You can, but you would have to make the lighting identically match the lighting of the original for it to look remotely good.

You could. It would work quite well if done correctly. smile

i thought that the only way to have clones walk in front of eachother and stuff like that would be to use a greenscreen, is there any other way?

You could do some pretty intense masking, but it's more time consuming than greenscreening. The easiest would be to film it in a way they never have to cross paths, that way you can simply do some splitscreening.

Check out Tarn's tute here. That pretty much sums it up for you.

Yeah, that's good, but I'm assuming he wants to have the clones have direct interaction, which would mean
a. Greenscreening/Compositing
b. Intense Masking, as aforementioned.
