After I got ALAMDV2 I heard about ALAMDV3 and now I here something about a DigiGrade going to be released with ALAMDV3. Does anybody know anything about DigiGrade? What it does? What it is like? wall eek

I'm just wodering if I'm missed something or if nobody knows for sure what DigiGrade is like. Thanks! oink

It's a color grading program. Basically it will be able to do anything related to the image of your film. A good example of grading would be films like the Matrix and Minority Report.

It's not going to be released "with" AlamDV3 though - at the same time - if that's what you thought.

so, even with ALAMDV2 would you get discount on DigiGrade?

I'm guessing not since it's not an ALAMDV product like with the free upgrade on DV3

No Digigrade is a different program so buying AlamDV2 does not give you a discount on Digigrade.

Theoretically it may give you a minor discount, though. Currently, people who buy Chromanator after buying AlamDV get a small amount off (£2.50). CSB may offer a similar deal on DigiGrade.

I *think* that one of the features that DigiGrade will include is the ability to apply colour grading to a particular area (e.g. a mask) of a frame/clip, rather than having to apply the colour grading over the entire width & height of the frame.

At least, that was the impression I got from a chat once on #fxhome IRC.
