Hi I was wondering if anyone could or would make a plugin for a vortex like the one in the TV series Sliders? I've recently been working on ideas for making my own episode, but it's kind of pointless if I can't have the vortex. I was thinking a strait on shot of the vortex would be nice as well as a side shot. Here's a link to some video clips of the vortex
http://www.slidersweb.net/blinker/movies/vortex.htm. If someone would take this on I would be eternally grateful! If you have any questions just email me at mallory@smates.us. I know there are a few vortex, wormhole like plugins already, but I would like something that looks more like the one off the show. Thanks

I know people have looked at this post, but nobody's saying anything. Is someone even considering taking this on? I'd just like to know if people aren't interested. Go ahead and tell me something, like sure, I'm thinking about it, or even no there's no way to do this so stop asking. Just like to know people are at least thinking about my idea.

Alright, do I just not exist? Even the guy who posted after I did got links back to the rules for plugin requests, and got told to stop asking for stupid plugins. Please, someone at least write to say you're thinking about it of you are. I'm going to keep writing until someone gives some feedback!

Well no one has written back still, but I just wanted to clarify that I don't need the inside of the vortex/wormhole. I just need the opening of it that the sliders jump through and come out of. So if anyone thinks they'd be interested please let me know. If I don't get anything back soon, I may have to start begging.

Hmm... have you browsed through all the plugins?
I think I remember seeing one similar.. try these as an alternative:

http://fxhome.com/alamdv2/plugins/info_cache/plugin203.html
http://fxhome.com/alamdv2/plugins/info_cache/plugin1235.html
http://fxhome.com/alamdv2/plugins/info_cache/plugin1240.html
http://fxhome.com/alamdv2/plugins/info_cache/plugin789.html

Those are just some suggestions. You might not be able to get exactly what you want, but since it's not REALLY sliders anyway, it doesn't have to be EXACTLY the same, right?
Try combining those plugins with light effects and play with some warping effects too.

Maybe it's the future, and the Sliders have better technology and the portals are different because of it? Be creative. Use your inner mind... as opposed to your... outer mind... ugh.

I'm no effect artist, but hope I could help.

Well I hadn't seen a one or two of those. I had hoped maybe I could get one just like the opening of the Sliders one, not only straight on, but also from the side. However if that's not a possibility then I guess I'll have to settle for a straight on only with these already existing plugins. Thanks for giving me the links!
