Macbeth 3000: DVD Menu TEST

|Here's a test for the DVD menu for Macbeth.|
It's not a final copy, just a montage of action, but I figured I'd post it so you guys could see a little more of the neat-o-ness that is Macbeth.
There will be a premiere in Toronto on July 15, 2005. At the Bloor Cinema. Come if you can!
And, no, we arn't releasing the DVD soon. Sorry! We're going to have to do a festival circuit first, so don't hold your breath. Keep in touch, visit our site often and we'll eventually get that out, and anyone can order! It'll take time, but it will be worth it!
Check this out in the meantime, and enjoy yourself!
Disclaimer: You may or may not enjoy yourself. Supergun Cinema holds no responsibilty if you happen to throw up all over your brand new corduroy leisure suit. In the event of the aforementioned, dunk your head in a bucket of ice and chant the following: "I am stuck in a time warp, I am stuck in a time warp, please god, save me from this corduroy, I can't save myself." Then immediately email a Supergun representative, and he will give you an address where you may send your $500 "Just-in-case" cheque.
A "Just-in-case" cheque will be returned to you in the event that your time warp causes a paradox and we have to fix it. Only two such cases have occured so far, and the clients were genuinely satisfied with thier existence in space-time (sans corduroy) afterwards.
On with the show.
Oh, and check out our trailer (if you haven't already) here:

What's with the dotting/ tapping / dubbing kinda sound? is that in the music? It's nice all the same, glad to see some new footage and it goes well with the music.

Yeah I noticed the sound spiking/tapping...it may be because of compression, but if its in the real song, or the levels are too high, it should be fixed.
Otherwise, looks great!

Very, very cool. It was edited together very good (jumping out of the window...
) and I liked it a LOT
One thing that would make it look (even more) professional is if you had the options (Play Movie, Scene Selection, Audio Options, Bonus Features) appear a bit after the "intro" starts. It would look great if the titles were zoomed in or something right as he hits the guy in the lightsaber fight in the beginning. If I were you I would delete the speech in the beginning.
A very, very strong 4.

All the audio is just thrown in, and the music is temporary (there will be orginal music there). It'll probably change a lot, but I thought it would be fun to post it and see what ya'll thought!
Thanks for the positive comments and suggestions guys!

Have to say I liked the trailer better, but this is exactly what I would want my menu to look like if I was making the movie.

As usual, the editing on this was excellent. Thee window jump looks pretty low res however. what camera did you use to film this/?

The camera was a Mini-dv Sony handicam. Nothing special, but we tweaked some of the contrast and such. (some of those shots are rough footage though)
It was all made in Premiere, AlamDV and Chromanator.
Thanks again for the comments!

It's really just a combination of editing and the right text!
If you hadn't noticed, the beginning and end are both white, so that it can loop. For the actual DVD it will be EVEN BETTER.
lol- we're working on some TOP SECRET stuff for the final product. Keep an eye out, it'll be sweet.

Well... hey- I changed one thing in the description and now it's back up... not in the top ten anymore
Also, all the votes are gone, and that makes grandma very sad.
Grandma needs votes.
Lol- just check this out and buy the DVD when it comes out (probably in a year).
Or fly down to Toronto for July 15.
PS- We're back in the top ten, and the votes are back, so Grandma is now doing pretty good. Except for the rash on her back, but that's ok, I'll just jump in the bath with her and give her a good scrubbing.

Dude, you never cease to amaze. This menu was AWESOME, but then again, how could it not be; seeing as all the MacBeth stuff you've thrown at us has been polished and brilliant. The editing is what sold me on this, very professional, very tight, good flow. I'm stunned, what can I say?
5/5 in my book anyday.

I'm sorry... but Africanasian... you gave the movie a rating of 0/5, but you praised it... could you possibly clarify why?

Seeing as this is his first post, I'm guessing that he, like many other newcomers, misinterpreted the rating system and thought voting a zero was a five, and vice versa. So, like thinking you're voting a four would actually be voting a one. At least I think that this is the case.

My bad I thought it went through. I'll give you a 10 instead of a 5 anyway. A 5 isn't good enough as far as I'm concerned. I've seen alot of films and film shorts and the fact that you had the balls and even thought of the DVD menu thing is brillant. I'm working on a project myself and to be honest your work is very encouraging. I showed your DVD test a few friends of mine and they too were very impressed. So I apologize for the mistake on that. I hope this makes up for it. Please let me know when your DVD is out, I'd like to purchase a copy of one. Keep up the good work and remember don't let anyone bad comments or insecurities brign you down. You do good work and that all that matters.

No offense, dont get me wrong or anything because I loved the way your trailer was put together but this just looks like you took your trailer, deleted all audio on it, added a music track over it and put dvd menu selections in the bottom right hand corner... I dunno, I'm just not seeing what every1 else is seeing on this i guess.

Thanks Africanasian, your comments are appreciated.. I just always wonder if people get low ratings, why they were warrented. I love to get feedback and criticsm, which this site is excellent for. I'll keep you updated on the post production.
CX3: That's pretty much it... some footage from the trailer, and a few other shots thrown in. It was really just a test that Geoff made for fun, and threw in the text to give it a purpose. I suppose we'll probably have a different menu, but I had the thing hiding in my hard drive, so I decided to see what other people thought. I don't know if we'll be able to do what I would like (fancy buttons and cool transitions, video boxes and such)... but we'll do the best we can!!!

Not getting you wrong, CX3... that's the whole point of putting the video up here... feedback.
It was literally thrown together by Geoff in a short span of time, and Mubashir aside, was simply a test of something we wanted to see.
I'm sure the actual DVD will have a better layout and video... based on the feedback here, of course.
