I think there was already a topic about this but I couldn't find it.

Im using chromanator on an apple computer. I'm trying to render a scene but whenever it gets about 1/8th of the way through it unexpectadly quits. I tried changing the render location but that didnt work. I have no idea what it could be.

Try deleteing your preferences file. Worry not, this file is created when you restart chromy. The path should be Computer Name>Users>Your User>Library>Preferences. If you find a chromy preference file there, delete it, that may work. If that doesnt work, try re-installing. I could be totally wrong, wait till schwar gives the final verdict cool

Didn't help either.
Could it be something in what I'm trying to render that would make it crash?

Do you have enough memory to save it?

do you mean enough to save the render, or the project? Of course I have enough to save the project I've had to do it a number of times.

As far as saving the render... I dont know. I have 1 Gig of RAM.

Another weird thing I've found out is that when the render gets to a certain clip (there are more than one) is when it crashes. I tried rendering clip by clip, and the one's before it are fine, but when I try to render that clip it crashes on the first frame.

Is that clip compressed differently than the others?

Its extreamly unlikely because it was cut out of the same one clip as the other 3.
I think it must be something to do with animation, or grading, or the garbage matte or something but I don't really know.

Yes, yes:

Suddenly, I have been experiencing CHROMANATOR shutting down during rendering [on OSX]. I've never had this problem before.

I'm trying to render three layers. One is the main title animation, the other is simply a black BG, and the third is an "uncovering" of a text via a garbage matte.

I've searched for help on this and have not really seen anything pertaining to my problem. If anyone could please help, I would very much appreciate it..!!! Please help..!

Sincerely,
IGy88

I never resolved this. I just trashed the file I was working on, and started all over. It sucks, but I havn't had the problem since.

I too use Mac OSX. I too have been having this exact same problem recently. It has been quitting on a simple animation of the frame of a JPEG over a white clip for the background........ We really need to figure this out.....
