Thanks to everyone that showed up to the webchat yesterday! Despite Star Wars dragging some people away, we still had a big turnout and some very interesting questions. Hopefully everyone that attended enjoyed it too.

For those of you that couldn't make it, we've put up a transcript of the entire session, which you can read by clicking here.

Don't forget that the chatroom is always open for discussion and product support, and you can usually find the FXhome team online during the UK daytime. Click here for more info.

Cool, it was fun yesterday. Less than 3 hours, and I'm on the cinema watchinf Episode III.

A small image of me (and me) wearing my new cool FXHome T-Shirt.

Cool, but I don't think I will be using stock footage. There are some kids here that I don't think they will be "ecstatic" about the paying for stock footage, but then agan, I think people should get money for there hard work. I bet the use of AlamDV with FXLab will be what they will be using.

I can't seem to find any of the particle engine particles. I go to the folder that is supposed to have the files but can't find any of them. Am I missing something? Or do I need to download the files?

Any suggestions would be beneficial.

I should have been there to ask when the new color scheme for the website will be officially going up. I keep seeing new pages with it, but I'm still waiting for full implementation. razz

Looks purdy by the way, Malone.

emmo2002 - i think you mean particle textures, they can be located at

C:\Program Files\EffectsLab DV\textures

or if you're using the mac, then you'll find the textures folder next to the *.pkg you use to install, you'll need to copy them to the "Macintosh HD" (or similar)

All the presets we were talking about in the web chat will arrive as soon as we can make them.

As this was the latest forum I thought I'd utilize it to ask a question: What are the video editing programs most of you are using? I'm using (stuck with?) Pinnacle Studio 9 & it won't open any of the Effects Lab tests I've rendered.

I use Pinnacle 9 plus and had the same problem, I couldn't import the exported directshow .avi file (uncompressed).

I then tried exporting as directshow DV .avi and it worked. If EL won't let you export as directshow DV, then it might be your source .avi input and how you imported it.

I haven't had any problem with captured .AVI thru Pinnacle direct from my Panasonic camcorder, imported into EL as 4:2:0 Mini DV PAL/HDV (which is the default).

The easiest way to test is import the file and check the render setting straight away and see if you export as directshow DV .avi. biggrin

Padone40,

Thanks for the response. I just got home (it's 10:34 PM CST) and I'll give it a run tomorrow.
