Testing day is a movie that i created when i was bored one saturday, it shows off the lightsaber effect in effects lab as well as i created my own stock footage from alam dv2. It is a video with sound effects, plasmer balls, explosions, music and some very good special effects. It also features some slow mo replays for those really good or funny effects

LoL, that was so wierd.

Some of the scenes are ok, but the casting is too long (even though it had sweet music!)

To me it looked more like a alamdv2 test then a EL, am I right?
THough I didn't know the glass plugin looked so great, thanks for showing me that.

Nice effects in there. How did you create your own stock footage for the plugins? Please, master, reveal your ways!

It had a great variety of effects and especially great sounds. I also liked that "DTS" sound introduction thing. That was pretty cool.

lol thanks for all the feedback, will be posting a new movie soon called Time Warp so look out for it!

also, to create stock footage from alam's plugins you need to:

1. open alamdv and select any footage at all
2. put the effect over the top, stretching it all the way over the canvas
3. export it as a quicktime file
4. when prompted, change the background to 'black'
5. click ok and render it through until the effect is over. after that press esc
6. goto effectslab, goto 'stock footage' and import the quicktime you just made
7. stretch and change appropriately

hope that helps, its very useful for soem effects that you really need from alamdv!

hey klut i value your imput but everyone has to remember that i made this in one day with no forward planning it was pre producted filmed edited and post producted in one day and there was only me doing it.

The reason why it looks like alam dv2 is because i created stock footage from the alam dv2 plugins and then imported it into effects lab, that was the only way that i could get those effects.

Also i did not spend very long editing it, i laughed when i read the comment that peter huish made because i wondered when someone would realize the part where the glass smashing and then the bullet hole still being there.

The music, if anyone is interested, is , firstly, rammstein links 234 and then the song from gladiator and house of flying daggers

by the way what do you mean by casting was too long?

Also the release of time warp is put on hold as the story line is rubbish and I have just realized that it doesnt make sense,

when we do some more filming, re edit it and add some more effects then it will be ready.

ok well first off dont do more than have of your movie titles becasue honestly we dont care unless its an acualle movie, the only thing you really needed to say was"effects by "you" and programs used effects lab" beacsue that was a waste of half of your movie. all of the effects where alamdv2 effects on top of that. and you probebly should not do almost every effect 3 times, one in normal motion anthoer slower and after that. once is enough. i am sorry i sound so critisizing but its for your own good. im sorry but this is a 1 in my book.
sorry

fair comment but remember "THIS WAS A QUICK ONE DAY JOB" and its the same with the one i am uploading at the moment. Plus because the stock footage section is not yet online i could only create stock footage from old alamdv2 plugins that is why it looked kind of crapy.

In the remark you made about titles, titles build up the anticipation and add broadcast quality to your movies - if you dont like the titles skip through them but in mine and quite alot of other peoples eyes, that i know, feel that having titles makes a big difference. (Although I do believe the titles on this movie were a bit long sorry)

but like you say any critazism is good and i am glad of your advice.

Its quite funny actually the fact this movie is getting such a mixed reaction. I thought it would get quite crapy reports but they havnt all been bad.

Alexanderj

As a reply to your question, if you havnt got Alamdv2 how come you can get the plug ins and turn them into stock footage?

(P.S this is our first movie online)

Oh c'mon, the movie takes 2m20 to start !
Nervermind, I like that you post those tests on here, this remembers me the good old days, first year of making movies.

Funny testing though, keep up the good work, just try to start your movie after 20 seconds at least and forget the 3 times association with TNT and make your company and everything razz I remember one of my first movie, thatw as like : directed by, shot by, cameraman, editing, sound, featuring... dude what I hate the most in DVDs is exactly FBI warning, formated to fit your screen, rated General, menu, animation, 3 logos, THX, DTS, warning again... =P anyways, keep up the good work !

I though most of the Visual effects were a bit not so good. Just a quick test, but still, that is what it was made for. The glass broke and fell in front of the table but the size didn't change so it looked the same distance away, immediately giving away it was an effect. Also, the blood looked pretty bad, though I know it was just for fun. The limbs flying and the guy exploding was very, er, odd and looked fake, obviously, but I THINK that part was a joke. Titles were way too long. Don't say they bult up anticiapation. They were annoyingly long and uneccessary. You repeated the same thing 4 times and made an error: A TNT Entertainment Presents (or something of the sort.) No one said TITLES are bad, they just said yours are unnecessarily long for a test. People want to get straight to the point and no movie should have 2 minutes and 30 seconds of titles for a little test. 1/5 because some parts were funny and nice masking on the explosions inside the house. Hope you had fun and good luck in the future.

Oh, and by the way, that wouldn't be stop motion. That would just be animation. Stop motion requires a physical camera and involves moving something physically frame by frame.
