New versions of the Mac and PC installers are now available that resolve script error issues on launch and starting new projects. Click here to read the full change log.

All EffectsLab users should head over to the downloads page to make sure they're up-to-date.

If you had problems with the previous version of EffectsLab under Windows then please uninstall EffectsLab and delete the following folders before installing this new version.

C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\EffectsLab
C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Local Settings\Temp\EffectsLab Cache

Please note these folders might be called something different if your OS language is not English and that the "Local Settings" and "Application Data" folders might be hidden by your OS.

Waaaa...am I the only one?
I continue to have script errors pop up when ever I start the program for the second time. This is after uninstalling 868, and removing the appropriate files in the local settings folders.

I am using Windows XP SP2 Home edition, AMD Athlon 2000+, 1 G RAM, and an ATI Radeon 9000. All my drivers are up to date and I have the latest directX. I have a number of video editing programs on my machine, but these are not running while I start EffectsLab.

Any suggestions? Anymore information you need?

Clue sad

Totally unrelated with the mentioned scripting errors, but I have had quite a few crashes with this version. If I have time this evening I will try to install the previous version and see if the crashes are unique for this version. Sadly, I don't have a lot of time so I haven't played around with the previous versions as much as I would have liked.

From what I have seen at the moment, the problem sems to be in the render engine. It happens when jumping around in the bit with special effects. I also have had it crash during a full render.

As soon as I have things narrowed down a bit, I'll send you a decent bug report.

Regards, Eelco
