This is just an extended trailer I did for fun. Just thought I'd put it up on here.

Well, I'm pretty sure that is the best trailer that I've viewed here. Sure, it doesn't mean the movie will be good, but it is one professional looking trailer. Excellent.

Chris:

Crap man, if you did this for fun...I can't wait to see when you start getting serious! Ha ha!

Seriously, great trailer! It makes mine look really amateur. crazy I especially like your shots using text (the title, actor credits, etc.). If you get the chance, I wouldn't mind knowing how you did that (i.e. what programs or techniques you used)

Thanks for sharing as usual.

Thanks again guys.

Rudy - Haha, thanks man. For the titles I used After Effects. It was my first time trying something out that extensive with titles in AE so it took me about 4-5 hours. The background is stock footage of a sky and clouds moving. I just altered the color to red and turned the gamma levels down to get the blacks. For the titles I just duplicated the word and made the duplicate on the bottom black to give it a shadow and keyframed them both accordingly. Then I put a bulge effect on the white text and keyframed it to where I wanted it to go. Then I put an alam white light bulb over that afterwards to give it more of an effect. And when the text comes in and out real fast I added a directional blur. The text at the end was just done in after effects as well, but that was the simple one hah.

Thanks
-Chris

Wait no longer, young padone40!

Unlike my trailer, Chris already released it! Check out a few posts above, or look at all of Chirs' projects to see the final movie.

Lol, people don't seem to have the ability to read, do they?

Maybe you should edit the first post, Chris, giving a link to the actual movie there. Just in case people don't read this far biggrin

Wow, this trailer was great.
You used After Effects at the titles right?
But what other programs did you use?

The beste trailer on Fxhome!

Some very nice editing and mixing, C. Very pro.

However, although this had more content than you or aj's previous compilation-style trailers, it didnt really get me pumping, and I thought it was just a bit dragged out. (even though it is an extended trailer)

3/5, still. Very nice, as usual.

very cool. The best part is that I never got around to seeing daywalker, and this trailer made me really want to see it now. I'll have to get around to that when I have the time.

fantastic trailer. 4/5

i'm sure i'm late to comment on this work, but i must say that this was very well done. The title's were very sharp and cinematography was without jiggles and shakes and the edit of the music was close to flawless. way to go, you got this down. keep on keepin on.

chase

[EDIT] what camera did you use for this? It has a pro look to it. GL2? XL1? XL1s? i'd like to know because i'm in the middle of a camera purchase and want some good visuals of what the cameras can do when put to work.

Chase, just a reminder, if you click the 'profile' button on the bottom of anybody's post, it leaads to their profile, which would include which camera they use.

And CX3 uses a Panasonic DVX100a.

You're right, but you might well not have been because Chris didn't actually make the movie. Ajjax44 did.

A Panasonic AG-DVX100A is what AJ uses, so I'm guessing thats what was used to film the movie. You can view the full thing here Chase

Technically we ALL made the movie ha. AJ was just the main director. Trust, I iwas there at every shoot just like most the rest of the cast. I guess you can say we do things a little different. We don't neccessarily give out "specific" roles and go by them the whole time. We're open to any1 on set if they have ideas on how or what will make something look improved. And yes we used the DVX. Thanks for comments atom, Waser and chase.

p.s. (Me and AJ both have a dvx now, not including the MAFIA's dvx)[/quote]

haha...thanx for the tip ben i'll make sure
I check that out next time, but I must ask this question... what is better? the GL2 or the XL1 or XL1s and are there any great sites for those cameras cheap? ( i know i should probably start a forum but I'd rather just get a quick response here because i'm sure its already been discussed somewhere in fxhome and i don't have the time to look for it.)

Nice trailer. Did you guys use Alam DV to make the reflection of the muzzle flashes on the people, or was it some other program. Whatever it was, it was awesome.

We used a 20 dollar strobe light from Radio Shack with a blue filter. It had a variable strobe knob and we just had someone shine it on them as they pretended to fire and matched the muzzle flashes to the strobe hits. smile

I believe they're a little bit of both, although the regulars in almost all his movies I'd generally think are just friends.
