Demonstation movie from the people of Flashart Pictures.

An amazing example of how AlamDV can be used to make StarWars style Lightsword effects.

Check it!

It is a fight. Just sabers are in. Not a perfect kind of movie.

I'm trying to give comments on films, hope you don't mind

Great solid fx, good fight scene, good lighting.

A tiny story would have been nice.

IF it is the best lightsaber duel ever, then why does it end so suddenly? I can definitely not see how this movie moved into tenth place on alamdv. That makes me mad.

This was great biggrin , except confused , from the first attack, the lightsaber was going over the guy not towards him, it looks a bit weird eek , apart from that it was great keep it up! biggrin

Not trying to implore offense upon the maker, but this was one of the most "memorized" fights I have ever seen. The "off-the-wall" trick was VERY OMMITTABLE! This fight should have a type of story or at least a faster pace. If none of those...then desinagrate it!

Good effects, good choreography, good lighting, but spinning sabers do not a great film make - The fight was a bit slow, and the leap off the wall was geriatric... sad
Having said that, I did enjoy it crazy

Um... look at the submission date and the original creator's comments... It was a test of the effects at a time when there were VERY FEW other films on the site. In fact it was probably the only saber fight clip on this site at the time...

As a test that shows people that you can choreograph, shoot and put the special effects on a clip in the space of one day it does pretty well...

Just rate it for what it is... one of the first AlamDV movies ever created...

hmm ryan is a very talented young man, i have seen alot of his works. its hard for me. i think ryans take on it is very different a gritty to most light saber duels, but then Art of the saber, is heavily influenced with eastern flows. I mean it comes down to story at a choice like that. and Art of the saber does it for me more. i think its to do with the monolouge.

Once u start titling action peices, to me you have already lost. seems as what some type of arrogant jester, of which people will always expect more if u know what i mean. Nice try though

I'm rather new to the Alam DV community and have just recently begun making (very bad) movies of my own. I loved your movie and I can appreciate the time it took to make it. I don't think it's the BEST duel I've ever seen... but it is a great one, and also far better than one I could produce. I thought the little kick off the wall looked completly out of place, but movies are about having fun, and it seems you did with this movie. Great Job.

I have no idea why ppl are saying that was any good at all..first of all the coreography wasnt that good. that little jump off the wall, well didnt look too amusing. Sure, the quality was great and all. but i have seen better (Ryan vs Dorkman, Art of the Saber). so please dont post little 36 films for feedback when its really pointless when all it is is a lightsaber test. and here is a tip you should really take into consideration. DO NOT and i mean DO NOT EVER use Duel of Fates for Background music. be more original.
sorry if this comes out a little harsh..no hard feelings tho. everyone needs a tough critic to pull up their pants and do better

*Edit : i just realized that this was posted long before art of the saber. but art of the saber was made before this just not posted. also Ryan Vs. Dorkman

That wasnt good at all. I mean me (13) and my freind (12) are making a lightsaber movie. our first 10 secs look better than that film. What i mean to say is dont rush, go with the flow. take up karate or something for better motion in movies.

making a movie isnt about looking cool dresseed like neo and such, it's about the art of it all and..... focus more on the lightsabers!, not your cloths, and was that dude using a flashlight?

Thanksfor the bump gUnit, now I can see this ^^ comment. That is the funniest thing I have heard in a while man. Don't know if it was on purpose or not, but wow. Nice job on the triple post too.

And for anybody posting "criticism" on this thread, you are wasting your time. The creator has moved on, this was made over 4 years ago.

The rotoscoping is VERY good in this movie. The clashes were not too great, and, as people said, the jump off the wall was kind of weird. I think this is a very good test, and moved amatuer filmmaking one step forward. So, The great one, if you still skim the forums, good job. razz

That was NOT the best lightsaber duel ever. That was one of the worst. Why did you jump off a wall for no reason whatsoever? You should not use a flash light as a lightsaber handle. It just makes it look fake. Your clashes also looked very pathetic. Also, are you trying to look like neo or like a wierd sith?

That was not the best lightsaber duel at all, "The Art of the Saber" pwns you and your feeble attempts. Nice try though. I can't sword fight or light saber fight either, so don't feel bad. For next time don't say it's the best when you know it really wasn't....at all.....EVER!

In fact it was the 11th movie ever submited to the website, which was back then known as www.alamdv.com.

There are 600+ movies now. Odd as it may seem, some movies are old and made with old software and some are new and made with more recent software. Its called linear time and is the foundation of reality.

That movie was the most s**thouse movie i've ever seen. Ok, the editing was ok, but the acting was terrible. wat was that jump against the wall? either do a flip or don't do anything at all! and add some speed and style.

Dude, it was just a demonstration. And listen to pixelboy; THE AUTHOR IS PROBABLY GONE NOW! And plus, this video was made over 4 years ago!

Also, it wasn't "acting". It was a demonstration. With a stunt. You can't expect low-budget filmmakers to pull off grand and extreme stunts....

I know this is an old post and movie, but imo it was a valiant try. The choreography wasn't as good as the "Art of the Saber", but this still features some nice effects.

One thing that could have made it a little better would have been to add some glow from the sabers onto the fighters faces, this to me is the only part that makes it seem unreal.

Good try.

When you two are locked in the end, there's no clash effect. Where's the constant, grinding, suspenseful clash effect? Otherwise, well done.
