I really thought Paris would win. That’ll teach Jacques Chirac for calling our food sh*t. Who doesn't love the greasy goodness of McDonalds!!!

Ps. I know McDonalds is American

McDonalds is American.

Other than that, it was rather satisfying to beat the French, simply as a response to Chirac's bizarrely rude comments recently. He's been acting like a rather immature child that has to resort to insulting people in order to appear 'edgy'.

Not being a sport person I don't really understand the fervour and excitement behind this whole thing (let alone the hundreds of crying people in Paris...you'd think somebody had just died), but it's still rather nice to see the country achieve something for once. Here's hoping we don't muck up the event itself...

The one thing that I find quite wierd about this is that by the time it happens my 12 year old brother will be 20! I'm not really a sporty type either but it certainly does stick it to Chirac, which can only be good.

Obviously photoshopped. Why'd they use "half price" in France?

Wow, people are jerks. I was in New York City yesterday and I saw this headline: "At least it wasn't Paris" in regards to London winning.

I was living in Park City at the time and had to go through 3 checkpoints to get to my house. Not to mention that I had to walk to work every day for 2 months since the whole area was barricaded off and they even stopped the bus route that went by. The only upside was that they were giving me so many free tickets to events at work that I started turning them down. It was fun I guess but I don’t want them back here any time soon.

Congrats London.

btw Waser, the Gateway Rules!! twisted

I wonder why that was since the olympics only last for 2 weeks.
I didn't really feel the effects of the olympics since only one or two events were held down where i live.

The games may only last 2 weeks but like Kid said there is a lot going on before and after everyone else comes to town. I did feel pretty safe though they had a military checkpoint at the corner of my street with some dude sitting in this hut with an M-16 24 hours a day and he would come out and check my pass whenever I was heading home.

Sinbad wasn't a secret agent, because everyone knew what he did. Oh, and aenigma, Sinbad was also a boxer in First Kid... a BOXER. And where do boxers train? GYMS! And, according to Waser, Sinbad- who is a secret agent- is no longer the epitome of awesome. And seeing as he went to a gym, that also makes him a gymnast. Hence, gymnast = not awesome.
