Well, if you did get FXHome software you would get more Force, smile Also with the lightsabers, it wont be original but, George Lucas encourages fanfilms, lol smile if you want it to be original then use your imagination, and I'm sure your come up with something, if not I'm sure there is plenty on guys herre that would love to help you. The guys here are the best they always help where they can and they give such good advice smile They also help & tell you how you can improve things smile

But with your force eventually it will go up, the more you post the more force you will slowwly get, but it takes time smile lol

Forgive me if this sounds dumb, but what is exactly Motion Tracking? Is it a way to stablize shakey footage to match a CGI effect like a CGI building or creature in the background so it doesn't look like it's floating?

something like that, it tracks a camera's movement in 2D footage, and this camera movement can be exported to be used in a 3D envorinment. than you can superimpose the 3D stuff over the 2D footage and voilá.. lol

but i haven't done it yet, so i don't know much about it wink

ok, this'll become my next shot, and this is the base of the scene.
im gonna make an Ice texture on this, make an animated mask with animated metaballs, to let the ice freeze over time. Than i'll apply that animated mask on the UV mapped Ice scene, and for the final touch i'll give the footage some cold color correction and than it will "freeze" like in day after tommorow!
... well, that's the plan wink

any crits greatly appreciated smile

Someone at TF. N e-mailed on of the guys working on PFTrack or whatever Icarus turned into. He said it is fine if you use it, but not commercially. Getting it for free is totally legal. But, how would anyone know what you tracked your footage in anyways? (not saying I would do something like that)

thx everyone biggrin

about the mask, i animated metaballs (white) with a black background (with the UVmapped ice scene as reference). with some metaballs i only keyframed the size on one axis wich gives it a less "ball" like effect. than i imported the metaball footage in final cut express, and blurred it.

than i used the Final Cut Express footage as an animated texture on the UV mapped ice scene, the mapped the animated texture to "col" "nor" (full 25 ), "Alpha" and "emit".

than i created another texture "Distorted Noise" with Distortion Noise "Voronoi F4" and Noise basis "Voronoi F3" and i mapped it to "col"

i used 2 base mask movies and applied that to the other objects as well, the mouse, computer etc.

To get the timing correct for those other objects, i played with the "offset" (in the "image texture", with "movie" enabled.)

added a blend texture as a stencil for another ice texture. and animated the "y-offset" from the blend texture

and than just added another ice texture for the blend stuff

and i pressed "shadeless" and "texface" in material buttons. that's how i got the mask

dalder, everything is made in one day, except the tracking, recording ice sounds and filming is done on another day smile

Job, could you explain what each video playing on the breakdown is? Like where the colors shift to blue, did they do that in the final product, or was that to demonstrate that you made the footage blue?

it was to demonstrate that i made the footage blue,
all the black and white stuff is the mask,
all the blue stuff is the ice, pretty obvious wink
