Hi guys,

Again I don't know if this subject has been discussed already (I tried Search function but din't find anything) but I have a few questions about the buying process that involves Effectslab and/or Chromanator.

They say that if I buy a product its a 'Download only'. But if I buy this product and I download it. What are the futher options with it. For instance, can I put it on CD/DVD as back-up whenever my PC may crash?
How do I recieve this download? On my own FXHome account?
I never bought a download before so can anyone tell me how this works so I don't confront any unwanted suprises???

Yes, you can save the installer onto a cd, dvd, usb flashdisk etc for backup purposes. You cannot have the programs installed on more than one computer at the same time, however.

Yes, basically you buy the product while you're logged into the site with your username. You'll then be able to download the product you bought (and this download page is always accessible), and you will receive a magic code to do this. You will also have to download a keyfile which unlocks each program.

Fxhome has a few security measures which you have to remember. If multiple users appear to be using your account to download the software and keyfiles, Fxhome will probably kick you off the site!

In addition, Fxhome uploads updates to the programs every few months. The software expires and these updates will allow you to continue to use the program, so you'll have to login and download the new version (you won't have to pay for these though). This is a measure against piracy.

But what if I want to put both the programs on my two PC's? Does this give any problems.. and what do you mean with multiple users? Does that mean Multiple PC's or multiple Accounts???

The licenses for our programs are per machine. So they allow you to install the program onto one machine at a time. If you want to install it on 2 machines at the same time then you need to purchase 2 licenses.

If we find that multiple machines are using the same key file then we know the license agreement has been broken and we stop that key file working in future versions.

Yes, as with all software, if you break the license agreement then you are no longer entitled to use it.

Don't worry about it too much, we've only ever locked out people that are deliberately trying to rip us off. As long as you follow the "one copy per machine" rule there won't be a problem.

Another aspect of the buying process. I do not own a credit card and I haven't got paypal. What are my options.
Asking my parents (who do have a credit card twisted ) or are their any options left for me.

What do you mean why doesnt anyone use the demos anymore?

I have the Chromanator Demo and I'm about to get it....

I used the Effects lab demo to make a whole movie for crying out loud!!

I even used the alam DV 2 demo....but i couldnt use it to see its true power because i didnt have a good enough video card....

my point is...I DON"T KNOW ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE....BUT I ALWAYS USE THE DEMO BEFORE I BUY SOMETHING....I SUGGEST EVERYONE DOES TOO(unless its a video game or something)

quick question...

Are the demos the latest version of the program?

As in...Is the demo of effects lab the latest version of Effects lab or does it just consist of the release versioin??
