I'm dissapointed. It doesn't fit in with the other 5 DVD covers, and its not even exciting or anything. I get nitpicky about this stuff, lol.

I don't like how there are actual photographed pictures of the actors. It seems like it should be painted or at least ran through some kind of pseudo-painted filter. Not a crisp photo.

Bleh.

edit: after seeing evmans link, I guess all the covers do have that same look. Maybe I'm thinking of something else.

No it doesn't. 4 Characters, 1 holds the lightsaber, action or something in the bottom corner.

I'm not a fan of any of the DVD covers, but that is the worst one.

Oh no!

Let's boycot the series because they've done a DVD cover that isn't exactly the same as the others!

Sorry for my sarcasm, but it seems to me to be utterly, utterly trivial, beyond even the most diehard geeks/fanboys.

Actually, no, there are fanboys arguing about it as we speak.

Anyway, I'm a sucker for continuity, things like that annoy me, like my collection isn't complete or something. Its not like it would have been hard to make it like the others. Anywho, all the DVD covers suck anyway, they all suffer from "floating head" syndrome, which always looks bad.

It looks like they're a family in that cover. biggrin

Though, other than that, there's really nothing wrong with the cover.

I like the cover. I never noticed the pattern that you speak of, so I dont really mind. I think the cover is spiffy, and I want to hump it.

Yay for Happy Gilmore reference. Best movie EVAR.

I like the cover and I too didn't notice the one character holds saber with crappy lens flare. I guess I am just not a true fan... wink

No you are not, you should be ashamed of yourself.

They'd better come out with something better than floating heads for a saga box set when they eventually make it. I'm hoping an LOTR Extended Edition type set up, and not just these crappy covers shoved into a chinsy cardboard box.

I think you are getting the DVD cover art mixed up with the poster art. Drew Struzan who did all the Star Wars poster art (as well as MANY other great movies) has a distinctive and recognizable style of airbrushed acrylics and colored pencil that give it a realistic yet textured painted look.

If you hadn't pointed out the cover differences I probably wouldn't have noticed...

But you are right... this cover is different, and I don't like it.

But I'm not gonna flip out... oh well. That's Lucas.

I can't see any problem with it. It wouldn't surprise me if the final cover will fit in by the other DVDs.

I agree with Raedhawk, I was suprised that the cover looked different when I saw all six together it was the only one that didn't have a main character and lightsaber on the front like the others. But who said that this cover was the final cover smile

boffa - what ssj john means is have the Ep III cover match the others, where they only have one person with a lightsaber on the front.

I think that is what he means by the old one

Dudes, lets be serious. Who gives a damn about a cover of a DVD. Does the cover change anything to the movie??
I'd rather have a cool movie with a boring cover then otherwise. What are we argueing about.. Don't we have better thing to do? (like making movies)

Well, since the discussion is about the cover, it would be offtopic to say otherwise. So, allow us to "argue" even though it is more of a debate, which last time I checked is indeed allowed here. Though I agree with your statement, the topic is about the cover.

I agree with evman, the cover doesn't fit, and the lightsabers looks crap.
Hope they change it back to the "4 characters, one with saber and action-in-bottom-corner" stile!

And I miss the crappy lense flare. sad

About the lightsabers, I just noticed as Klut pointed out, look crap. Though I am almost positive they will look better bigger or closer up etc.
