Y'ello. If anyone has access to watching or renting a movie called MY BIG FAT INDEPENDANT MOVIE, directed by Chris Gore, watch with eagle eyes to find ALAM gloriously within. I was asked by a San Francisco filmmaker to contribute a few pick up shots of explosions and fire and I happily did so using the FireTrail and Debris Explosion plug-ins, with a few more. To know the exact point in the movie, whenever you see Pauli Shore and a Bazooka, thats me.
(He also wanted me to blow up a gas station but I dont know if my version made the final cut.)

The effects superviser is a CGI artist for ILM who makes movies in his spare time (as do we all), and appeared as Viceroy Gunray for about 3 seconds in Attack of the Clones. He told me that ALAM did things faster than all of his hotshot local boys, so woo hoo.

I did these effects about a year ago, WAY before EL, so this is Amatuer Light and Magic in its purest state (they loved the name of the software BTW).

Anywho, the movie is in limited release right now, and will be on DVD shortly. I am fantastically curious to see what ALAM looks like on the big screen, but Ill have to wait for DVD. If any of you have the chance, take it while you can.

Great stuff, JF! smile I'll have to try and find out how to get hold of this in the UK. Nice to hear the praise from the ILM chap, you'll have to show him EffectsLab sometime. wink

That's awesome... especially since it was you. I've always liked how you used AlamDV for your own films... you definitely added something to it that a lot of others haven't.

Good job jealous. I'm glad to hear that it all went well and cannot wait to see it. See ya at next years comic convention. Can't wait to see what you bring to show that the fan film competition.
