This thread has been started to make it easier to find the remakes that people have made from the remakes thread (HERE). I will do my best to keep it updated with a list of who's doing what, and what's already been done.

Please try and keep discussion about which remake you want to do, etc. out of this thread and in the original remakes thread.

THIS THREAD IS FOR POSTING OF REMAKES AND DISCUSSION OF SAID REMAKES ONLY.

Here is the most recently updated list:

Serpent - "The Lake" (Production/Post Production)
Aculag - "Pharmacide" (On Hold)
Deepcoiler - "Home Sick"
Waser - "Hide And Seek" (Pre Production)
Hybrid-Halo - "The Room Saga"
Arktic - "The Hatman"
Pooky - "99 Red Balloons"
MovieGuy334 - "Art Of The Saber"
timmyd - "The Gunfight"
nanafanboy - "Gunbound"
Zirk - "Cooking With Albert"
Ben3308 - "Splinter Cell: Pandora Yesterday" (Production) (Teaser) (Preview Images: 1,2,3)
Bryce007 - "K-Text"

I've put italics on the films that I'm not sure about, or we haven't heard anything about in a while. If these films are still going, it would be great if their makers could PM me and let me know, so I can change their status. Otherwise, this list should be correct.

If anyone notices anything wrong, let me know, and I'll fix it.

Can we please try and keep discussion about what you want to do, etc, etc, etc out of this thread? This should be for talking about remakes that are already made. Otherwise, there's no reason for this to be here.

Edit: I see I've had some help from one of our friendly, yet mysterious moderators, but what I said still goes.

K.......Here comes my honest opinion........agian. Though I think you did this as kinda of a joke. I still have to say, this was pretty boring. I honestly think that this did not show any of your skills as a filmaker. All the shots were the same. Just a front shot of you. And maybe the camera was tilted a little the next shot, I don't know I can't remeber, cause I got distracted by the T.V. and quite honestly I don't want to go back and watch it agian. I honestly think any kid could have done this. I'm not impresed in the least bit sorry. Some things that would at least make it interesting: Try using different types of camera shots you know just to mix things up a little. wink Then try and do something different in some of your camera shots instead of just a whole bunch of camera shots of you doing the same thing, in different places. Cuz that get repetitive and boring. -1 if you will. But my opinion stay's the same. I have nothing good to say about this film.....Sorry.

It's not meant to show any film-making prowess you Monkeys. Arktic did this purely as a joke/nod at the silliness of Fallen's origional. For people who knew him to laugh at and as a joke in general. Not everyone will find this funny, sure. But...

The joke really is on the people that took it seriously enough to believe that any criticism would bare any weight on Arktic's future submissions. This means you SSJ Duo. wink The origional was a silly movie with no intentions of making everyone that watched it laugh nor showing off any form of film making expertise and the remake is exactly the same, surely that makes this the perfect remake!

Personally, I think Hatman 2 is the best thing since sliced banana bread, it truely. A greater creation than Onion shaped Planes, this film truely pushes not only fxhome, but cinema forward as a whole. Great stuff Arktic.

hydrid, the point is, is it was not my style of comdey, it was just annoying! and even the most basic videos can be filmed well! i think you guys all just influence eachother that this is funny. becuase i show people that have not ever seen your posts on how you think it is funny, or even know your INSIDE jokes, and they watch this movie and just say, this is annoying...turn it off!
to me comdey is like Aculags movies, they have a style. and yes acualg liked it, but mabey he likes that style, but thats not the point, the point is, is this movies style is not in my oppion funny at all. i trully beilive you guys all influence it to be funnier than it really is! mad
to summerize, not funny in my eyes, not my style, and you guys all influence eachother to make it seem alot funnier than it really is.
i am sorry Artic, i know you can do better!

I think you'll find that we're all fully aware of how silly it is, we're not classing this as first class universal comedy. if anything our praising is satirical, surely this is obvious...

im not i was just expecting a good old comedy but insted i got some kid dancing in front of a camera, acually trying to hard to make you laugh. and let me explain the differences between that and like Numa numa video, (you know mia HII main HAA mia HOO)
that the guys was being seriose so thats was makes it funny, another example star wars kid, he was seriose=funny
Aicha (kid sings a song about a girl)=funny
Hatman was him trying to hard to make you laugh=not funny
once again this is my oppion and i am not trying to manipulate you guys, unlike you guys all to do each other in saying its funny, when it really is'nt <---once agian my oppion people, so dont freak out. eek
agian Artic no hard feelings i still love you like an fxhome brother.

Haha, Damn Aaron, it was a remake. What did you expect? Story, dialogue and such? hah. He remade it perfectly, dance moves and camera angles down to a tee ha, and the ending twist was the best part.

becuase i show people that have not ever seen your posts on how you think it is funny, or even know your INSIDE jokes, and they watch this movie and just say, this is annoying...turn it off!
I'm quite sure Arktic wasnt making this for the world to see. Just the people that knew the film from before. Showing anybody else is kinda pointless because ofcourse they wouldnt get it hah.

Try using different types of camera shots you know just to mix things up a little.
Haha, thats my favorite comment.

Heh. Hydrid and comdey!

Now that's a duet I wouldn't wanna mess with. One blows water at you whilst the other tries desperately to make you laugh to death. Their mode of transport is of course the onion shaped plane.

Whose with me?

Seriously ssjaaron...That was a remake...I laughed becuase of how STUPID it was!!

Besides as CX3 wrote that the shot were EXACTLY the same as the original and the end was a pretty good joke too...

Its not supposed to be a masterpiece(what do expect, Saving Private Ryan?!) its another step to being a good filmaker...

I hope this clears it up for you...

Actually, the rotoing in that was horrible. I expect it took about a week. I still commend them, but I think "all that masking" was exactly what it lacked. I wish someone could re-roto it in EL or something.

I honestly think you wasted your time making it and I wasted my time watching. Even if was a remake that dosn't give it an excuse to suck! If your gonna remake something change it a little. Dont make it the same, thats why your remaking it duh...Put your own twist on things. Thats why I think you wasted your time, because you remade it the same.

I think Arktic's own twist would be the inclusion of the hats changing midshot and instead of the protagonist exploding at the end, just his hat - the centrefuge of his dancing power erupts into a firey demise. Such a powerful emotional scene that one.

*wipes a tear from his eye*

The only reason I can see why you've constantly criticised something it appears you haven't even paid attention to is because you're stuck in a timewarp which has gravitated you in an era prior to us telling you that we know this sucks, and we know it's silly, and we know it's a waste of time, Arktic also knows this and created it solely for this purpose so any "Arktic could do better" argument is nullified. We love it because it's terrible.
Perhaps you just envy Arktic's leet dancing/prancing skillz, he does rock teh big one afterall. Who knows.

Now for the love of god, get over it.

You're just jealous because Arktic's created a filmic masterpiece whereas all you've ever been capable of doing is blowing yourself up.

Do yourself a favour, go out and buy a magic hat then try and follow in Hatman's footsteps. Only then is there any chance of you being someone.

I would also like to take this opportunity to re-affirm myself as a zealot of the church of Hatman. Hatman (both in old and new testament visitations to earth living on forever as the spirit of hat and the holy hat/hat trinity) serves as a true inspiration to us all and is the single greatest thing to grace fxhome. If anyone thinks otherwise I will fight you.

Start praying now SSJ, maybe in time Hatman will allow you to repent. Saving you from the bad hair days of Hat Hell!

I honestly think you're taking this too seriously John, everyone is allowed their own opinion and it's obvious that you're not 'in' on the injoke that is Hatman, everyone respects that. It's when you go on about how it should be improved that people start to think you just don't understand why Hatman is as bad as it is.
And the answer to that is that it's simply meant to be. Maybe you didn't get that, or this particular sense of humour doesn't appeal to you at all. In which case, fine. Just stop telling us about it. We're aware of your view and for our own reasions we disagree. Start respecting our opinions and I'm sure we can all agree to disagree.

-Hybrid.

Seriously. I was considering dressing up like David Seaman to end all this nonsense.

What are you people? Really....

I myself didn't find the video funny, but I don't loathe it and I can see why other people might find it funny.

Now then, let's all get into a big naked gay pile? Just like in South Park.

*throws up*
I really can't wait to see the next remake now. Someone else do Hatman?

I don't know. I didn't really find hatman funny. The twist at Arktic's was great though. *poof* "NOOOOOOOO!"

In terms of remake, it was like 99.9 percent like the original. A great job at remaking.

You're spending an awful lot of time and effort to tell us that you don't care. smile

I reckon you have to a) have fond memories of Hatman from the Early Days and b) hang around in the chatroom to really appreciate Arktic's remake, let alone find it funny.

Out of interest, do you like the original at all, ssjs?

Personally I've always found the original Hatman very, very funny, due to its bizarre wackiness, catchy tune and knowing Fallen from the chatroom and having met him in person. Arktic's doesn't quite work as well for me, although I do love the wig.

I geuss I just dont "follow" the crowd.
I don't think liking Hatman is 'following the crowd', ssj. In fact, I'd say it has a very small niche audience. Most people will simply go 'eh?' at it. So if you want to avoid following the crowd, you should probably start liking it pronto! razz

tbh naming yourself after the super saiyajin is following the crowd more than anything. i find it more amusing that a lot of westerners don't realise the words super saiyajin are a perversion of the japanese words for vegetable, so you are infact claiming to be some hopped version of a green grocer's wares, perhaps a carrot with extra vitamin C. as for the hatman, well i blame malone, it was his idea to film an old man who made old people explode when he touched their bottoms. it was unfortunate my nan wouldn't oblige when i made the original.

First off I'd like to say thanks for adding your opinion tarn but you see its a little late because we are well past this topic.

Tarn wrote:

Out of interest, do you like the original at all, ssjs?
And just for kicks and giggles I will answer this question though I think it is obvious that I do not like the original hatman. But you see my point is not about the original hatman it is about the remake so let the original hatman continue to stay out of this little scruffle*heh scruffle funny word*

I geuss I just dont "follow" the crowd.

Actually tarn there are people here who problably didn't even crack a smile while watching it. But then posted something like " ohhh that was hysterically brilliant" Just because they think they're are being funny. And they're not. And don't pretend you actually laugh at peoples jokes tarn we all know your really trying to take over the world....O wait thats me.

I...used to!

I still am fasinated at the animating and cool effects but i really think it is kinda out there when it comes to the "powers" and that its set in the present day...

(Yea i would watch it EVERY DAY at my grandmas house and was driven mad by the way they streched the battles out and made the next one look like it was going to be the coolest thing ever...)

*sigh* those were the days

Kudos

Now as you can see since I don't see very many people saying "I". That we are not "following the crowd." by liking or naming ourselfs after ssj. I do relize that in JAPANESE saiyjin means vegetable. But NOT in english. If this were a JAPANESE site it would be funneh if my name was ssj. But Since in ENGLISH site, and since I am not japanese SSJ does not mean vegtable. Or at least thats not how we use it. Besides its too different things there is super saiyjin (japanese)
And super saiyan (english) so therefore your incorrect in your attempt to whatever you were trying to make a point at. smile And the reason why I did not just put ss is because there is alot of things that can be mistaken with that like a boat being named ss john. And the ss soldiers hitler had.
And if I could change my name I prob would. Man the most rediculous things we argue about heh....

Hooray for long paragraphs to say something that could be said in once sentence. Like that day I wrote a logn paragraph in class and I ened up erasing it and putting one sentence instead, that was a brilliant move. It got me an A+. But that's not what we're talking about Im just trying to say you should try to avoid long paragraphs like this because it's a pain to read considering it could all be said in a since sentence. I just skim through your posts that could be said in once sentence. Yes.

Mods, would be nice if you cleaned up this thread a bit... it's not supposed to be about japanse vegetables

I don't have any words, but I made this just for you LK.. and probably Arktic, who will hopefully laugh insanely when he sees this.
I ended up laughing insanely myself. Once again. Excellllllent. NOW - Make a movie about the onion shaped plane and how it has to fight for its right to make sense.

And yes. Perhaps maybe new people and old people alike could learn something from this thread. If it's not too much work, why don't we make two threads - One for simply posting the remakes and their links, and another one for actually discussing them. This one should be put somewhere else, so I guess other people can learn something from it. Either that or it gets deleted and the posts not about japanese vegetables (veggie tables!) are moved somewhere else.

That's my one cent.

I don't think that's possible. Ask Arktic, I couldn't bring myself to ask a flight attendent if the plane we were on was onion shaped. Yet I know it's a good idea deep down.. somewhere...

ssj peeps: Stop posting unless you have a movie to submit or a comment about a new one, and (if you are doing this) stop logging on eachothers screen names. Seriously.

As for Splinter Cell: Pandora Yesterday, we were a bit delayed with the final shots because of actor hold-ups, but we should be able to round it off this upcoming weekend. After that, with our so-far-success on remakes, Ben and I and chase are thinking about taking a crack at Kyeju's Estranger. With our new-found nirvana with lighting and a similar-looking cast, we might be able to get two remakes done by next week. Yay!

Guys,

I'm touched that one minute and fifty-seven seconds of me dancing in a variety of hats has caused such a debate. If you like it, fine. If you don't like it, fine. I care not.

Cheers smile

Arktic.

PS - I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that picture, er-no. You still owe me £4 by the way wink

Hey atom thanks for telling me what to do...Good thing I don't listen to you. Heh or I might actually stop posting. Look everybody else here is not posting about a new movie or submitting one...So why should I be singled out.

Just because others break rules doesn't make it right. Aculag said no posting unless it was for a remake, an dthus far, very little posts have been posts for remakes. Just a thought. Everyone else may be posting irrelevnace as well, but you seem to do it the most hostility. I often agree with you, but in this instances its better to let the fire burn itself out than add to it, if you know what I mean.

I found that post to quite useful actually. See it helped me get the stress of my day out..... Anyways Ben, atom, can't you guys just keep up with the program, we are talking about japanese vegetables and have been for the last 1 and half pages. (I'm honestly sick of it) And ben I most often don't reply with hosility, you just read it with the wrong tone. Beers any one, I mean root beers of course...eeeheemm... You know what movie needs to be remade, well it dosnt need to be remade because cinimatic wise its pretty good. I would like to ghost soldiers remade, cuz i thought the war scene's were a bit weak, but it would just be interesting to see what spins someone else would put on it. This is personal opinion, be nice...

Yes and no. I added an extra sidestory and some more plot twists and such to make the movie better, but it generally runs scene-for-scene, just with more story and about three times longer.

Alright ben, the question must be asked...Is that a real beard, or a penciled on one? because I honestly can't tell.

Also, what kind of gun do you have on your back in that shot? from that angle it looks like a lever action rifle.

A. The beard is fake. It's talcolm powder layererd with mascara. You can see closer up stuff here.

B. That gun is a one third scale toy rifle from the Arkansas State Folk Center.

This movie's no budget, where am I gonna get actual guns?

EDIT: Oh, and that's not me, I'm no actor. I'm much too not cool looking.

I think the contrast is cool, but a little too much. I can't tell where his arm ends. Maybe it was compression, or it will look different in Motion. Otherwise cool. Neat thing about fake facial hair, +1

I was trying to mimic the brownish film look from "The Hit", that's why it looks like that. The headgear really isn't that large, it's blended in with the darkness of the gate. Also, I don't have the means to buy actual goggles, so my makeshift ones are a tad oversized. We're getting new mockups for the next few scenes to be filmed.
