A few years after The incident in the Congo, involving Big Boss, and the rest of the members of FoxHound, Solid snake started to slowly move into retirement. In order to make some extra money, he hired himself out to do plain, and routine missions for U.S. forces.

Solid Snake was hired to perform a routine mission in Serbia. He was to protect one of the few remaining bridges connecting the enemy North to the allied South. Unexpectedly, he was engaged, and shot down by two jets of unknown origin. He managed to eject, but unfortunately landed on the North side of the river. His only route back to safety is to use the bridge that he was originally protecting. If the enemy were to take advantage of the situation, Snake would be doomed to certain capture.

(Its their best yet, really like the True Lies style bridge scene - schwar)

Actully it was... i was so pissed of back then, but now its not important.
If i could vote again, it should be a 4.
Cuz Sollthars is better (youre is defently notbad!)
And Sollthar should have a 5. I donno why i voted a 4.
And hey,,, Tmaekler votes bad for almost everyone... he voted a 0 for my ActionReaction (that isent that good... but not worth a 0!) and another 0 for Baby bat girl!.. only good that he has voted is "HosT" Scene 6 test and "the test" wich are the best on the cinema! so i understand that.

pornogen just voted bad so his own movie could be on a better spot, same on every movie he has voted on.
And i belive that thomast is the same person that pornogen is... or a friend of pornogen.
But im mayby wrong.
Anyway.. it is a great short movie, that acully is about something. Metal Gear! other movies on alamdv is just effect test or short meaningless movies (including my movies). But you dont realy upload a big 90min movie too a effect program site...

Pornogen n' friends... *snicker* Why three stars? If you're not rigging the cinema, I'd appreciate it if you could tell me why you voted three stars so I could improve my films in the future.

Bloody fantastic old chap! I was dubious about the size of the file. ( I thought the length of it would mean that it was going to be dragged out) but it was really concise! I really liked it! Fantastic end sequence! well done! cool

Metal Gear Redux deserves five.
For sure.
Just that way everyhting flows...formt he jets...to the "sneeky" feel on the ground when the guards neck gets snapped. The whole movie has a good feel to it

I think it deserves 5

Sidewinder,

Oondah messed up. He sent me a message saying he was sorry for voting 0 stars on one of my films. I know what you mean about asking though. I am trying to improve but to date the people that have voted low on my films have left 0 comments. Just wanted to let you know about oondah.

I meant to hit three stars but here is why

The work that was done as far as CG and editing were good, the originality, acting, and technicalitys were kind of week.

The cockpit was HUGE, the shot of him firing a pistol at an airplane was hilarious and when he snaps your neck and when he does a double take of the bridge he has that little (im on camera) grin like he does in just about ever movie you make hahahaha.

The "dramatic" jump was not dramatic enough for slomo I think but thats just me

And trees do not spark when hit with a bullet. The hiding behind the tree with you walking over just needed something else, to plain, and there is no way you wouldnt of seen him hahahaha

Dont take this as a personal attack cuz I think your a cool person though.

I must say the 3d work was pretty sweet. If you had several more actors I think it would be much better.

I wanted to redo the sparks on the trees but, we didn't have time. No sweat.

I didn't like the explosions on the bridge. It would have been cool to have seen some debris etc. As it was; the missiles exploded, the flames die away and the bridge is left just the same - so I wasn't keen on that.

But...

THOSE MISSILES WERE COOL! The way they flew, the smoke trails, the way they released from the aircraft... just perfect! That made the movie for me.

I also liked Snake tapping the tree with his gun. Great touch!

Nice one, guys!

I was slightly dissapointed by this film as it wasn't Metal gear enough for me. I like the work you did on the planes. Very well done. The bridge explosion and the way it was put together was good too. I think that if you spent less time in the air and more time on the ground it would have been better (In my opinion). Maybe you could do a 'Top Gun' movie next as you seem to be able to do ariel plane battles well.

Hey!! This was superb. The best one, I've seen, I admit. Much like MGS, but too much action and less sneaking around. MGS has ALOT of sneaking around. It was almost like MGS, but too much action. I like the running part in the end, that was sweet. If only you had a silencer or a sniper instead of that blasting gun. In any case, good job. The ONLY thing I didn't like was the airplanes. I didn't know Solid Snake was in Top Gun? lol Just messin... I beleive, there should be a specific location and many people, and more sneaking, you know, like MGS. Plus, a storyline would help. If Solid Snake had a purpose in this vid, and you were to go after it, HEY! I bet you would have made a even more superb vid. I look forward to your next vid.

By the way, where was this filmed?

It was filmed near and on the river in the town we live in. It started raining later on, wo we got a real cool look to the bridge at the end.

I gave it 2. The cockpit scene was bad. The gun looked bad with no moving slide, and it the guy in the cockpit looked completely oblivious to what was going on. The neck snap was also bad, and the bridge would have been completely destroyed after 1 of those missles hit it. The CG was great; the acting bad.

Ooooo harsh. Luckily, you'd be happy to know that two 16 year olds made that.

Plus that cockpit was awesome. And that neck snap was awesome so shut up kid! heh lol

I'm not a good actor? Meh. A lot better than others in the cinema section.

What am I saying? Name a part where I act. There is no acting in it! What the heck. neutral

PS: Sorry I wasn't able to shoot real guns off for the movie. That "slide" thing really dissapointed you.

PPS: Why the heck would I be using AlamDV if I had REAL desert eagles pistols with blanks? Seriously. There is NO SUCH THING as a gun with good discharge action that isn't real. Period.

But I have to agree with you on ONE thing:

YES the bridge should have been destroyed.

But the movie was made a year ago so no one cares! razz

The End! lol

Whoah crap. That IS a really nice movie (and website too!).

Honestly, it was MUCH better then metal gear:redux, and a lot close to the actual metal gear (pre-solid 2). Definitly a great movie (though i think ours still is pretty good considering the amount of time put into is (2 weeks)).

I gave it 3.

Not bad, but let down by the compression - the fighter scenes were hard to see. Obviously it's a bit dated now razz

I agree about the bridge thing, that's one tough bridge! lol

Why the Hell does Metal Gear: Redux get so much damn attention. I made a Metal Gear film you know. Ohhhh I know why. I'm not a member of the clique am I so I guess no matter how many films I make and how good they are, I'm still gonna get zero views and next to no posts.

I haven't seen either. razz There are so many movies now, I think most people go for the top rated ones or just the most recently added at the time.

CurtinParloe: Yes, that is a tough bridge.

We should probably re-compress it, and re-upload it, since we could lower the size quite a bit.

Venger: Why does ours get more attention? Maybe 'cause its better? wink

Just kidding, though.

Good movie...
Sparks on a tree? Kinda strange..
Good angles, but too shaky when the camera follows him running.
And... hehe killing the pilot while flying, with a handgun.. hehe, seems unlikely smile

This is the old link: http://fxhome.com/cinema/hostedmovies/mgs2.mov and it will always be the link... The link is still up. Get the newest Quicktime Player from http://apple.com and get Firefox from http://mozilla.com QT player will enable you to watch the movie and Firefox is more stable that most internet browsers, maybe your current browser is screwing up.

nice job for the special effects, really good for an amateur movie.

but i don't like the outfits and the actors are too young.
(no informations about the story?)

woah talk about a dead thread, sidewinder and mechaforce barely come here anymore cos they're at uni/ college, or something like that. And the story is metal gear solid... try getting the game. This movie was made atleast 3-4 years ago, have a look at some of their newer movies, jsut search in the cinema.

People are aloud to comment on old movies, it happens all the time. Though criticism isn't necessary because they are way above this level at this point. Also, sidey comes here all the time. Mecha not so much. But sometimes is nice to see old threads and rediscuss.

This movie absolutely ROCKED.
I love the fast-paced action, the way the Metal Gear Solid theme seems to climax when the movie does, and the very end scene with the rockets hitting the bridge right before Snake.

This movie deserves a 5/5, and that's exactly what I'm giving it.

Fairly average movie, but the ending just kicks ass! Very well done in such an inventive and awesome idea!
