What I'm looking for it like a 3D cloaked figure who looks extremley dark like a dementor. I need it to be in slow motion or like its gliding through the air when it walks. If you could help me that would be great.

This would be an interesting test. If I had more skill with the C4D cloth sim I would help. If you can find normal stock of it, composite in Chromy following the slowmo tute and put some mist in front of it using stock footage or a 3d particle sim for easier compositing. If you get to the mist stage and you are considering that, I can help.

you might want to get a very THIN black cloth of some type, and rig it up physically and have a fan blowing at it lightly. Myabe a junky pocket fan. Shoot this on a green screen, a mini one, and composite it. Smoke would still be a great effect to cover up any shifty compositing.

Just do it practically instead of digitally. You'll more realistic results much more easily.

The texture on the cloth is terrible. The motion is cool.

Maximus, nice idea. Just get a transparent fish tank and put a blue sheet in the background. Then just put together a Ring Raith-like thing.

Tomorrow I am going to do a test, and topic creator can use it if he pleases. If it turns out good anyways. I have the fabric, I just need to shape it right.

Yeah that would be sweet. I was just thinking of just put him infront of a blue screen wearing the dementor costume with some added cloth and put fans all around him and put it in slow motion.

But your way sounds pretty sweet to me.

Hey guys, sorry for the long delay. This weekend was busy, my Grandpa was over, and I had a meeting for a video project I am running. So, tomorrow after school that is what I'll do in my free time. This will hopefully turn out great. I have the fish tank, camera, and blue screen all set up. Just need to rig up cloth and shoot.

Would you mind posting pictures of what the set-up looks like? I'm sure everyone can benefit from this. From what I know, this has never been attempted here at FXHome before.

Ok, the first day was a miserable failure. I shot it outside and it picked up reflections. Sadly, I took no stills of the setup, sorry. This weekend I'll do it in my room, which is painted blue, so it will only pick up a solid blue reflection the way I plan to shoot it. The reflections could have been avoided had I scooted the cam up to the glass, however I only got the head of the dementor. On another day, when I don't have an important test the next day, I'll do it. Thursday seems like the best day, no tests scheduled on Friday this week. So sorry it didn't succeed, however I didn't expect it to on its first day.

Hop you have better luck next time mate smile

Good Luck
