I'm sure you're well intentioned, but this isn't that helpful. Your spelling makes this hardly a great tutorial, and will probably be confusing to beginners. To be as beginner-ish as you intend it to be, you need photos...lots of them. Your tutorial is obviously aimed at the kind of people who need this amount of guidance, so maybe make some photos of the different ports, cables etc.

A section on how to put the firewire board in a PC would be helpful too as your tutorial makes huge jumps in the preparation process.

I'd second mell's comments about spelling - not much point telling people what to do if the guide (or 'guild') is full of crucial errors that will confuse them. A simple read-through for typos would have fixed that. Spelling and grammar is always important, but it's fairly essential when it comes to writing claer instructions or help for people.

Learning how to write URLs on the forum with BBCode rather than the massive page stretching link in your post would help as well.

Hello irishcult, glad to see you are taking a more helpful approach to your posts, it is a pleasant change. Perhaps I will give a look at some of those links at a later time, at the moment I am rather busy.

irishcult wrote:

Actually, there has already been (what looks to be) quite a bit of work put into teaching members the BBCode. When you select "Smileys/BBCode" (which is found to the left while you are writing posts) you will see "help" in the top right of the window that "pops" up. There you will find plenty of useful, easy to follow instructions on how to write the code. Before long it should seem like second nature, if used often enough. For now you can take a look at the help page by clicking here

Just to quickly show you what the window will look like, here is a picture:

Simileys/BBCode:

With a little more effort, your intent to help will most likely prove very useful for other members. I certainly appreciate it, thanks for the effort, plus one.

Keep it up.
Wizard.

Your guide maybe some what helpful, but there are already guides up that go over this, plus alot of people already know this information. Here' some very useful guides already done up and cover basically everything.. don't see much more point for further guides myself.

Now if you have addiontal resources that aren't on the pages.. then just add to these topics.

irishcult, think maybe you could proofread your posts before just blatantly clicking 'Submit'? They're nearly impossible to decipher. This is like that guy tra who put an exclamation mark on every sentence. Or MATT PUGH who wrote everything in all caps. A forum is an informal discussion board where your comments stay there until a thread is deleted, not an AIM window where you can just close and restart. Do the mods a favor and don't waste space trying to describe something in three illegible posts that could've been said in one well-written one. Be claer.

EDIT: You might also consider hyperlinking your sig so that it goes to DaneCook.com when you click it. The code to do that would be (without the quotation marks in between the /img and /url brackets):

[url=http://www.danecook.com][img]http://www.danecook.com/banners/_img/dane_banner_01.gif[/img"][/url"]

I think you might be on to something Pooky...lol

We got a interm report and I got an A in Honors Math, An A- in Honors Boilogy, A b+ in History, and an A+ in Computer Programming!

I guess I'm like those really ditzy girls in school that thought the brown sement on the sidewalk was sand but somehow they manage off really good grades...

swg33k, it's those kind of unecessary comments about you and our grades that don't contribute at all to the forums and ultimately make you viewed as a n00b. Avoid them at all costs. I doubt anyone cares what you got in your honors classes.

Would swg33k PLEASE shut up? How could you be so smart, but use an exclamation point after every sentence? An exclamation symbolizes emotion and excitement, and the only people that normally talk like that are the "really ditzy girls" at your school, and I presume you do so as well judging by your posts.

p.s. whats with your, "I don't see your QB scoring 49 Touchdown passes!"? The man chokes every year he plays the Patriots, and I don't see "your" QB with 3 Super Bowl rings and 2 Super Bowl MVP's

This topic has turned into a long blabing war. Shall we all move on... or is there "still" more to say... How about we all move on and talk about what we enjoy most... making videos.
