Firstly, theres some new bits and pieces to the cinema. The main one is the comments system. Each movie will get its own automagic thread on the forum where you can give the author feedback on his/her masterpiece. There is a link from each movie info page, or you can just browse the cinema forum.

Secondly, we have noticed that too many people are now rigging the voting system. This is unfortunate and defeats the whole system. To try and combat this we are making all votes public! This means everyone can see what rating you have given a movie.

We urge people to vote fairly and only once, tampering with the voting system will result in your own movie and account being deleted.

All anonymous votes have been reset, so feel free to put your votes back in if you still think they are valid.

But now you can see who voted for what, so if you see tons of votes from people you've never heard of...Then that's a clue that it's being rigged.

hey v6proz. . . . . i wouldn't be talking about cheating. I noticed that you gave all of your own movies 5 stars!!! That's cheap!!! cause those movies you made aren't that good - - - they could be worse, but for sure aren't 5 star material!!!! And yes, people really like MGSR, so it SHOULD be on the top 10 - I believe many people on the ADV site would agree with me.

Anyways, so did you guys up here like, combine the site username and the forum username? I think you finally did!

I noticed that you did the same tard

I know my test movies aint that good, but isent it natural to vote max for youre own things if you can?.. And why did you do it if youre soo onest?
You always like youre own stuff better somehow... lol
I realy just think that Alamdv Cinema is a playground where you can show youre little thing and see what ppl like, then you know what too improove. And i dont understand why ppl dont dare to show some critic, then you´ll only get worse and worse at making movies!... NOW I WANT SOME CRITIC ON EVERY MOVIE ON ALAM! even if its realy bad! and you hate it! tell me! TELL THEM!.
Every movie reviewer always bring up the negative parts of a movie, even on the best top 10 stars movie like "Lord of the rings".
But they bring up the good stuff ofcourse.

I realy like youre metal gear movie, its one of the best around.
The 3d animated planes are the best! and its entertining all thru the movie!
but some things arent realistic, (if it is a realistic kindof movie, wich it probleby is becouse you wanna recreate metal gear)
When you jump out of that plane with the para. You take up a hand gun and shoot? its almost inpossble to hit a plane that almost fly faster then the bullet, but even if it hits it wouldent penetrate thru the glass, cuz real fight planes can resist 9mm handgun bullets easely.

Mayby that was a stupid mark, but its that kind of things you laugh at in some home made movies. And thoose kind of things you always say "why its a bad movie" to a friend. But the movie mayby is great!. You get me? (damn its hard too explain)
And there is always small things you can inproove, like when sidewinder shoots at you, when youre behind the tree. Arent those bullet inpacts from metal? if you did it so good that far, why dident you just paint something brown in photoshop?

You always get better... if i did that little test, ActionReaction again it would be 4x better. And metal gear probleby 8x better.
And i oneslty give 3 stars for ActionReaction and a 2 on my other... dont remeber the name :o
And a 4 on youre movie, but its no match for "the host scene 6" and Sollthars movies.

And i dont make every movie with alamdv, so im not that bad as you think. I actully make comedies in sweden. And not so much for super duper effects. and you cant upload movies without alamdv effects biggrin

My first tv apperance is in this summer... with some alam effects. (if you mind schwar)
Mayby i can upload that movie on alam later on?

Anyway, there is no " I HATE THAT MOVIE SO MUCH" on the cinema.
Damn this reply got long!

Ok, lets keep our cool guys cool ! Mecha, you and sidewinder did both give 5's to your movie. It was really good, better than allmost in all the cinema, but in my opnion it is a 4 star movie since some minor things could be improved on. Allthough, we all are entilted to our own opinions. However, how about from now on, as a general rule, don't vote for your own movie. It's just a little cheap. Anyways, lets not have bitter fights over votings (they really don't mean that much) biggrin

I agree that the voting system shouldn't be taken 100% to heart. Voting is never a particularly reliable way of doing anything (but let's not get into politics).

However, the comments in the forums *are* important. It's what gives people direct feedback from people who don't have emotional attachment - ie, you haven't got the cushion you have when showing your stuff to friends and family.

Therefore, Mechaforces, it would be far more helpful if you actually told v6proz what you didn't like about his movies, rather than just making comments like 'they could be worse' - far cheaper than voting for your own movie.

Constructive criticism is what we need, people. That doesn't mean you have to be all happy and positive - be negative if need be. But just explain yourselves, try and be helpful. That way we'll all improve.

how bout you have to submit a quick comment on why you voted that way? it would automatically get submitted to each movies topic?

Nah, maybe not, it would just discourage people from voting.

Well, on third thought, it would make people actaully think about why they were voting that way, and help the makers of the movie, find out what was good and bad about the film...

maybe

Not sure that'd work, av11d.

If you compare the number of people that have downloaded movies with the number of people that have actually voted, the ratio is ridiculous. If we add into the bargain that you have to leave a comment, almost nobody would vote.

dammit. I leave for a couple of hours, and look what MechaForce does. unsure

I'll just make sure to not have him as our PR guy. wink

Hey, I was actually gonna post a justification for why I gave MGR 5 stars...

it's actually the only movie by Twisted Studios that I have given five stars. It was our best work yet, and it will be for a while.

Kingpiin and Solthar better watch their backs though, what we got going in pre-production (Silent Hill) will (hopefully) rock the cinema, and crush anyone who stands in our way. BWA Ha ha ha haaaaaa. ha.

WOW, lots of discussion is going on here - all the new updates Malone has made are really worth it!

As for the cinema, people are always gonna vote their own movies highly which is ok - I voted 5 for some of our inhouse films.

Personally, I like Sidewinders & Mechaforces movies - they have shown the most progress since they joined the AlamDV community and I can see them going a long way. Kingpiin, No Control Cinema and Solthar's movies are also true class - in fact we get a lot of good movies sent in now, too many to mention (Baby Bat Girl Rocks smile ).

My votes for movies normally depend on how well they used AlamDV effects - this is an AlamDV cinema after all. If I think they used the effects well then I give them a high rating - like the short, but cool Lich War movies.

I also think we need to try and get more short films set in rather than tests, but in the end this is just a way for you to improve your movies and get them seen by lots of people. Some of the movies have been downloaded over 7000 times and we know several thousand people come to the site everyday. Once we start distridution we expect things to go crazy with tens of thousands of people a day.

Use the cinema as you will, to showcase you latest efforts or to get helpful hints from other users. Just have fun with it and vote fairly - if you think something is bad or good then please discuss it on these new linked forums (did I mention that all these website updates were done by Malone?? By himself!! razz ) and give the film maker the chance to improve over time. We all know have crap AlamDV was when it started... lol

I think that MechaForce is kind of rude and say that almost all movies are crap exept there own metal gear. It is one of the best around, but dont go and blame me about some stupid votes!
BLAAH! And do you only make movies to show on alamdv?

Me and my friends show our movies in a lokal (whats the name?) teen place. And sometimes rent a projektor to show it on the big screen. Its way more fun! And show it for like 200 ppl.
But i only show the alamdv movies and alamdv cinema of course.

And the best thing is if you get critic on "What was bad" that Tarn said.
Thats the best about showing it on internet, cuz the other people i show too dont know so much about movies, or dont dare to say something.
The only thing they know is if it Bad or not. And if they was entertaind.

It realy sound like you guys HATE! my movies, and that hurts me. Say the negative things about it, and the good things pleaaase!

hey, V6proz, I don't hate any of your movies, I think they're cool.

I'm not sure what MechaForce's issue is. Maybe it's that it seems like every single person is giving their own movie five stars.

But all in all, one vote won't really matter.

so, no biggie. wink

haha, public voting and the fighting starts :)))

I don't think that it's wrong to vote for your own movies. If you really think your own vote is justified, why not?
I voted for "test" and "rose" 5 stars too. Not because they're my movies, but because I just think they're good. Allthough I have also voted the rest of my own movies with 4 or even 3 stars, cause I think there can be a lot of improvement or it just makes no sense... :)
As there are a lot of other movies wich I gave 5 stars to some 4 and some 3 (I don't really think there's anything worth less than 3 stars).
There simply are many good movies in the cinema section and everyone is getting better and better, as it should be... :)

I am really looking forward to seeing more of them! :)

Ive' always voted 5 stars for my own movies, but then I'm conceited, and bitterly jealous. That being said, Outtakes and Girfinds a pig were nothing particularly great, and thats my honest opinion. To be frank, I'm glad the votes were all lost for the movies so we can start again. I'm gonna have a clean outlook on exactly what I vote for. Movies such as legowars, baby bat girl, the matrix shot and MGS have all inspired me to try new techniques, and push myself and my imagination further. These are the films (and many more, I've lost count) I'm now going to go and vote for, and show my honest opinion, and maybe reflect upon my opinion which has furthered me in my quest for a quality movie. I have to say upon reflection I see the cinema as less of a place of competition, and more of a place of sharing, and somewhere where people can learn off each other, and congratulate each other, rather than rig votes, steal ideas and generally bitch at other ppl. I mean come on, imagine what we could do at ana AlamDV convention, we could probably win an Oscar biggrin
