FXHome team, maybe in the future we can have official contests with force prizes and some forums run little contests. They have an image for each contest they one display below their avatar. Maybe on here we can have another little icon thing for "Contest winner" below the sig and it would look like a trophy. Then in their userprofile it shows the contests they have won and when you select one (like the films submitted drop down) it takes you to the contest thread/page. I think this would be a great idea to make the site even more interactive. Maybe theme each contest, like Halloween, Christmas, length (Done over summer), Valentines (love story maybe.) I think this would work out very very well. It would make the community more productive and interactive. People love force, and people love having little icons and extra things in their profile.

Im not realy part of the FXhome team, but , i realy like this idea, it'd be easier ( i guess ) for some people who have trouble comming up with ideas, because they would have a theme to go by - I dont know if it makes sense the way I put it, but you guys get what i mean.

I think it's a good idea. The only thing I see wrong with it is that it might conflict with the team's schedules. What with still being in the midst of a major program launch and marketing and everything, not to mention a new site design in the works; I'm sure there isn't much time left over to devote to setting up a contest like that every few months.

Don't get me wrong, it is a good idea, and I think it's been brought up before, but I'm just questioning the possibility of it all.

We did try running a competition before and it wasn't particularly successful. It was mainly our fault because, like Marek says, we didn't have the time to devote to it. It's very easy to underestimate what is involved in running a competition, which is why I think we haven't seen any forum competitions completed yet. You really do need a lot of free time and motivation, and our priorities are elsewhere at the moment.

I would really like to see a successful forum run competition. If it works well I'm sure we'd consider making it into an official FXhome comp. I'd personally be happy to help (with force/minor coding) anyone that seriously wants to run a competition. But first they'd have to convince me that they are committed and have put a lot of thought into it themselves.

We could create a group of contest makers, that aren't the FXhome team, but a group of FXhomers that are trustworthy, imaginative, and hard working. They could set everything up, and then, after giving the results and such to the FXhome team, they could just modify the profiles or something... all time allowing...

That's a great idea, in my opinion. Of course, I would probably never win, but that would be fun. Like, top five winners get:
200
150
100
80
50
force.
Or, in a really big, like, person with best 3d, best movie, and the best avatar and sig would get an fxhome t-shirt. Of course, I'm not part of the team, but I think this would a great way to all make movies in a contest.

I like Timmys idea of creating a panal of contest makers who are resonsible and orginized. I personally love to do these kind of things and would be intrested in getting involved.

maybe competitions on:
Best Avatar
Sig
Theme Related Film
Best Visual Effect
Best Fan Site (just a thought)
ect..

But i hope that you take this into consideration

Also, we got a response from the team. There is going to be a Christmas contest due to the big demand. I think it was Hybrid Halo who closed a thread for a Chirstmas contest and said there will be a crazy prize that would make us want to focus everything on this contest. I am excited, thanks for voting, this big reply must have inspired the team.
