need help with hologram tutorial

hi

i've just bought chromanator and want to create a hologram. i've looked at the tutorial but i'm can't seem to work it out. i've keyed the footage as usual and inverted it and placed the interference to make the stencil but the greenscreen background turns grey when i render it.
please could some help me out cheers

It sounds as if you are doing everything correctly, but if the green screen turns grey, it is likely that you used spill suppression. If so, you are getting a render that looks like this:

Rendered stencil with spill suppression:


For the purpose of this effect, you do not want to add spill suppression when making the stencil. You skip this, so that after rendering, you can key out the green, leaving only the interference in the shape of your actor. Go through the steps again, and skip the spill suppression this time, and see where that gets you.
