What's the school system like in America?
I always get confused...

I'm not sure if I can say high-school, I'm in 10th grade at my school, and on that school there are only from 8th till 10th...
I'm 15...

So am I a Sophomore? Or how is that?

If I went to high school, I would be a freshman. I know some people who turned 15 well before the start of the school year and are still freshman for some reason.

There's an age cut-off date for each state/school system in the U.S.

In Dallas Independent School District, the cut-off date is somewhere in September, and we start school mid-August, so if you were to turn 15 before September, you'd be a Sophomore, and after, you'd be a freshman. But it's really all about credits, not ages. Ben and I went to an excelled school 4th-8th grade, so by-credit we are two grades ahead of our age. Then there is always these state-over-transfer kids from California and Oklahoma with a totally different credit system that get placed in all sort of grades. There's a 19 year-old sitting right next to me now in Journalism class.

He's kinda stupid, and should have graduated last year anyway, but because of the credits needed in Texas differing from California, he's still here.

You guys are freaky, I thought FXhome was mostly college and above. Well I'm a freshman in college. One big question is how did you get the $100+ dollars for Chroma, Alamdv2, etc (maybe I don't want to know) since I didn't get a steady part-time job as a karate instructor/secretary until I graduated.

I take it your not in highschool. If Mcdonalds has been hiring highschoolers as managers, no wonder they don't make their employies wash their hands.

So where are you from, I mean around here in the South mcdonalds is run by, and I'm not trying to be racial, middle-aged blacks. To see a white in there, let alone a junior, is weird.

I like that attitude. Hope their not ripoffs though.

And another thing. Doesn't making amateur films disrupt your school? I tried to work on a few films I've been planning, but had to stop cause grades were gonna drop.

Its true, alot of times your grades will sometimes go down. Evertime I have a video to do for class/youthgroup/yearbook/ect. I focus on that and nothing else. I get C's so I'm hoping I can just go off being a
hands-on learner and maybe get go to a good film school.

So shadowninja1028 are you planning to go to college? I was homeschooled from kindergarden though highschool. It didn't work that well until we used ABEKA video school-it teaches using video tutors. It was tough and like real school, but it helped.

Any of you take the ACT yet? You should start early and take as many as you can. It gives you extra credit hours in college. Also don't miss the PSAT. Or the SAT. Or the GED if you need it.

(I bet you guys are gonna kill me for writing that)

At LSU if you score high enough on the ACT in Math and English you get to skip the earlier English's, Science's and Math's. Instead of going into college Algebra and Trig. I was able to jump to Calculus from my
