One of the best parts of AlamDV2 was that for a project, i could actually import and use a static background image and work with that....is it not possible to do that in Effects Lab?

That seems like a step down if it isn't.. sad It's such a great product after all...

Yes, right now it is only video, and I am very unhappy with that. If you can make an image into a video then it would work though, i have done that before.

Fortunately it has recently been decided that EffectsLab DV is going to be enhanced, in order for it to be capable of image stream import. I am un-aware of exactly how much of EffectsLab is going to based on image support, or the capabilities of the feature, but I would imagine that it will offer what you are looking for.

For the present time, I have tried TimmyD's suggest in the past, and if you can find a convenient way of doing this, it should work just fine.

Fingers crossed.
Wizard.

Can you search the forum for an answer that's been posted at least a hundred times, because it doesn't seem like it wink

Yes you can. 1/4 of the main part of the program is the STOCK FOOTAGE feature, which is what the dinosaurs and spaceships and whatnot are. Though the specific "effects" you mentioned will look almost as bad as they did in Alam DV2, because this is more of a 3d app job. Do what you want though. EL can do everything Alam could and more (this is counting the image thing, because if you convert it to video, it is possible), and members have stressed this to the max - as Arktic just said.

The image thing and the tolerance for multiple video formats annoys me greatly. I feel like if its supposed to be better than Alam Dv, it should at least take along the convenience of it.

Besides this one thing, I think it is even more convenient than Alam.

Just give 'em time. They've given the bare bones already, so now they're starting to add everything else and perfect the program. Then it's time to work on Chromy 2!
