I think not. Becasue you need a distord effect for making it.

For doing this effect you need your subject on a alpha channel (from green screen by exemple) and apply a distord effect on the backgroudn using the shape of your alpha channel of your subject.

I can be done in AE and combustion.

Looks like this.

This picture is from a fan film called predator hunters match. They explain

how to do it on their site, but they use after effects which I don't have.

it's called a displacement map I believe and the next version of chromanator is supposed to have this facility. What Editing software do you have ? Try looking up displacement map tutorials on google or yahoo.

Yes, that is correct. However, at the time that shadowninja1028 created that post they had not purchased CompositeLab yet. In fact, at that time, CompositeLab was not available for purchase, and was a short while away. I am sure by this time, shadowninja1028 is well aware of the displacement map available to him.

On a some what more related note to the topic; Shadowninja1028, have you attempted this effect yet, and if so, are you satisfied with the results? It would be nice to see a final product, if there is one to speak of.

Just curious.

you can create this effect if you use persay a green back drop, but reverse key the subject leaving the green, reverse key the subject over the video feed u want in the bg then use some of the effects to distort the image giving it a depth. then export this clip, start a new project with the same video bg import your reverse keyed part. the reversed keyed part will have the geen still in the clip so you key out that part so u reveal the woods sequence and your reversed keyed layer will have the distort portion from the effects making the displacement illusion.

I descibe how to do this effect here:

Its a video tutorial. THe music is annoying, but it should help you achieve the predator effect.
