Preset Library for EffectsLab DV

This may just be me....
But I find it very wrong to place the Effectslab DV owners to the bottom of the food chain. I may be a fool for saying this but its true. Effectslab DV was the top program and a whole bunch of people wanted to get this and were happy to have it (even though it was the preview version) For me..now..I feel like crap cuz i ONLY have effectslab dv...not pro! I just looked at the preset library and was very disappointed. not at what was there because everything there is awesome, but for what Effectslab DV owners DO NOT have availible there. I know you guys need to make money. thats a givin but it really sucks if your going to be pushing the PRO and the visionlab and leave the DV users in the dust. Why make certian presets for certian programs?! if you have the program you should be able to get all the presets...again thats my opinion.
EFFECTSLAB DV USER.

Considering the price of upgrades and the amount of money it would cost you to get similar effects in another more expensive application I think it's a great program. There has to be some incentive to get the Pro version other than just looking for HD. In any event, you have your opinions and I of course have mine, but I think after being here almost four years I have come to respect the vision these guys have for great programs.

I'm right there with you, DJ. Today I opened EL, looked at the presets section, and said: "Damn."
So I made a bunch of grading presets and two optics presets that I submitted, and should be up soon, if they are accepted. (They are for ELDV, of course.)
They are a Day for Night filter, a Dream Sequence filter, a Security Camera type filter, and a Green Glow filter. If they're accepted into the Preset Library I'll let you know...

awesome! As long as we stick together and help each other out I believe fxhome will become stronger. I just saw the presets and was like wow...is this how it is going to be??? you know? and yeah i do understand about incentives and such but the original DV program should be fxhomes "baby" not the pro or anything like that. On that note, these guys did a wonderful job on teh webpage, i love it! awesome job guys but we all still have a lot of work to do to make everybody happy. Lets all join together and have a FREE preset/stock footage party!!!!....lol just an idea.

It just so happens that with the launch, there are many presets that were created only for the Pro and HD products. But that doesn't mean that the preset library is designed to exclude DV product users.
The preset library will grow substantially over time as more & more users create and upload their own presets. I'm certain that many presets for ELab & CLab DV will appear soon.
Remember the AlamDV2 plugins? The huge variety of plugins didn't appear all at once; they were developed over time, and if that's anything to go by, I'm sure the same will happen with the preset library.

Hendo, just out of curiousity did you buy Vlab and it gave you all the logos for the programs?

I understand how you feel, man, but don't sweat it, users can submit plugins as well and if you were here back in the days of AlamDV, you'd know that the plugins section grew like crazy, almost solely from users, not from CSB staff.
I get exactly waht you're saying, but have faith, the plugins section will grow.

Those were just presets from the team. The pro apps are more capable, and they are new, so they are putting more into them, showing off what they can do and the new features. I have seen some crazy ELDV work, and I know presets for it are going to be crazy. A good example to use to make you feel better: Blender3d users have a massive community of hard working people. It may not be as good as say, Lightwave, but they have been pushed to test the limits of the program. You can still create stunning visuals with EL.

Yeah. I completely understand guys. I just want everything to be equal. I am excited for the things to come from Fxhome and all the users.

It is equal, but Pro users are just more equal than us DV users.

If you only want to look at EffectsLab DV presets, check only the EffectsLab DV box in the preset library.
Hendo - Like sfbmovieco said, did you get all those icons when purchasing VisionLab? Because I didn't.

Alright Dj, you have a strong point. I think you're right.
But it luckely only are the filter presets. I mean there are a lot of other programs who can do that for you that easy...
But if there are coming presets of the particle engine who are only for pro or for Vision Lab...
Then I think there's a little problem...

Yeah its technically a forum bug, which is going to be addressed shortly. Users who have actually bought all the products including VL, will still only have the VL icon, once its fixed.

The problem you have DJ/others doesn't reside at FXhome. The problem is at your end I'm afraid. EffectsLab DV is capable of plenty, simply because not everything has been made into a preset does not mean that it is not possible.
I suggest that the DV users in this thread stop whining, and do something to improve their own situation.http://fxhome.com/presets/preset_management/submit.php
Create and submit some presets! The ones on the site were a few made just to kickstart the program releases. Ultimately the preset library is designed to be entirely user run/supported and well... Presets don't just create themselves.

It's also worth pointing out that some presets will work in other programs even if they are not fully supported. Filters in a preset that are not supported by the program are simply ignored, but the rest of the filters in the preset will still work.
For example; someone might make a snazzy muzzle flash in vlab, then slightly tweak it with a solarize filter. This preset would only be fully supported by vlab. But if you imported it into EffectsLab you'd still get the funky muzzle flash and it would just ignore the solarize filter.
At the moment its a bit hard to tell which apps are partially supported by which presets. But I'm going to try and add a table to the preset info page which will show you.

Hmmm, there are hardly ANY presets for any program at the moment so don't worry. As EffectsLab DV has the biggest user base I exect there will be more DV presets than anything else!
We only released yesterday, give it a chance.

lol, guys, guys, lets not jump to conclusions here.I was only talking about the future of fxhome. I dont even know what whining is...
I was only pointing out something to help you guys out with a little itsy bitsy something that could occur. These presets are brilliant and like I heard are going to grow into a gigantic preset library. So, once everything gets into place and starts growing more and more people will be able to use these presets.
I'm gonna go watch some family guy.

I would like to point out that 100% of the new presets are for EL DV.

Way to flaunt your ignorance, the only 'new' presets are: Light Snow, Basic Dream Sequence, and Generic Blue Muzzleflash. All of which are for EffectsLab DV, while the 'others' are included in the new programs.

Sorry, when you said "new" plugins I thought that was a reference to the whole new plugins page which is generally new.
