Haven't seen the movie yet guys, but I'm looking forward to it.

With regard to v6proz's comments, I think you can say that for any technique - be it stop-motion, 3D CGI, AlamDV, cel animation, bullet-time.....too much of it in the wrong context will inevitably spoil a film.

Sorry for not voting on every damn movie on this site man... Dont take it personal, but a lot of clips on this site suck ass bigtime and should never been approved... My vote goes to the people who make quality clips, not lame-ass webcam productions. AlamDV is for everyone, but I am for the elite and no one else.

Anyway, there is also a lot of good work here. I see many clips that are well made. The people behind these clips, whoever they are, deserve credit for their work. Those who prefer making bad-add productions should go someplace else. I am not interested in lame clips. I want to see som quality work. Therefore my votes goes to people who put a lot of hours in their clips. Quality to the masses... evil

interesting statement, Thomas. So "legacy" is your standard for a perfect movie (cause it's the only one you've given 5 stars too, when I see that correct)... hmm... interesting... very interesting.

And v6proz... with all respect, but you shouldn't "blame" anyone... Your way of voting isn't really "fair" either and there are some users on your films too, that have never voted any other movies or none with 5 stars but yours...

Hey, come on people.

Lets all be friends and stuff. If you're gonna slate a movie then at least say what bits were good or how it can be improved.

We are all creative people here - I know we can do better than "This Sucks" statements. Share your knowledge with other people.

Yes, I agree... But now that the votes are public I understand that there are more kind of suspicious thoughts and therefore resulting emotions... :)

I mean, it's kinda of funny that pornogen and thomas and others voted this movie with 5 stars and the other two on top of them ("host" and "test") with 4 or even 3 stars...

Even if I'd bet my ass that these votes have nothing to do with "real movie quality" as Thomas wants to make us believe, I still think "legacy" actually is quite good. Not very well filmed or edited, thats why I didn't vote 5 stars, but still some ideas are quite funny.

There will always be people that try to get their movie to the top by cheating the system - these are the people who don't care about if they make a good movie or not - just coming first.

But for the people that want to get something out of the AlamDV community the new forum lets real film makers (like most of our users) discuss and hopefully improve your films.

Please don't try to cheat the system - it is always obvious to everyone what is going on. That said, I like this movie although it had a bad title. It's good to see people playing with ideas and the plugins and I'm sure they will only gonna get better on the editing front.

Good Luck.

As for Sollthar.... Thoose other 2 people is Anders and Aqidgangsters, they will give me 5 stars whatever i do!

Anders gives me a 5 star becasue im swedish... lol

And Aqidgangster is a friend that i met on msn, i asked him too vote 1 time on my old movie, SoldierOfSweden (back then i didnt care so much)
But now he votes 5 for all of my movies, and wont vote for any else movie. I told him too stop one time, but he dident care. So the only way is too ignore his votes biggrin

Hope that explains all, CUZ IM NOT RIGGING THIS SITE! i vote what movies deserve... So far ive done 2 mistakes, that was not too vote a 5 for youre movie Sollthar, (host scene, was making me think everything else was bad) and nr2. was not to give Metal Gear Redux a 4. It was defnetly worth a 4, but i voted a 3 cuz i was so pissed of then biggrin

DAMN! there always gets fights when you do something in this community.

Maybe I don't know the right usage (i'm new to this forum and I like it) but don't we do movies for fun?

As amateur filmaker we should be able to be honest with ourselves and with the other. As for the Porno guy, the film title and company name sucks! We all agree on that. But the movie wasn't that bad and kind of funny (the dubbed voice). Now, what is it about been on top of the list in the voting system, is there a lot of money to win? If not, people should do as I do and watch all movies, for the ideas, the content, and the fun that it's procure. Isn't that all about?

By the way, I vote for movies I like (truly) and for the ones I don't like. So for me it's 4 or 5 stars (delecting pleasure viewing it) or 1 or 2(total disatisfaction). And for all the film rated in the middle, it was fun viewing them!

I thought it was as funny as hell. Especially when the dude fires off the Photons from his unit and gets the lightsaber up the Kyser Sosez. Does every movie need to be "serious"? Nah......sometimes bad taste is great taste!

Listen people. We have not made anything to conquer the world. We enjoy movies a bit on the odd side. We defenitely do not want to make clean soap operas and perfectly edit scenes etc. We do what we want to do - have fun all the way. Some people like what we do, some dont. Thats exactly the responses we exptected to get, and we'll continue with this forever.

Some people have been complaining about my voting. I just have to comment on this:

I've been watching movies at this site for the past six months now, and never voted once... But things change. Now Pornogen is up and running, we have a movie on the poll - things get a bit more serioius. Because of this I have started voting (wow!) also on films I've seen before i even had a user account here at AlamDV. And you have to agree with me: THERE IS A LOT OF CRAPPY CLIPS HERE. When complaining on why I not gave a 5 to the "HosT" Scene 6 test" is because its a CLIP - NOT a movie. Pornogen can also make smooth-as-hell-CLIPS that last only 23 seconds. But we choose another way. We make movies - beginning - story -end. Not just 23 seconds of a movie, but the whole movie. If the "HosT Scene 6 test" will be uploaded in a complete movie - ill consider it for a 5. Not before.

So... Those of you out there who want a 5 out of me do as follows: make a movie, not a clip... Spice it up with fx and wrap it in gfx and sound. Then maybe you'll deserve a 5.

phew.... You sound like a modest man... okay, most movies are crap and yours isn't, I get the message...

So, just for the record. I'm really curious. You both voted for my movie (it's the one called "the test") 3 stars... It's not an effect test, but a movie with story and ending...
So please help me becoming as good as you are (cause you obviosly must really kick ass, I mean, your movie is the ONLY one you've given 5 stars to).
What did I do wrong? What do I have to improve on my next movie that makes it at least almost as good as yours?

looking forward to your answer!

This is getting personal...........

All because someone shoved a lightsaber up their ass and wants an Academy Award.

You can have mine...he..he..he.... wink

I gave your flick 5 stars based on the following criteria:

1) Insanity
2) Orginality
3) Humor
4) Gratuitous Violence
5) Overuse of Effects

Good work in my book. biggrin

Right, this is a bit heated.

Firstly, Malone has developed some new systems that mean we can see the cheating more easily. Ever few days he will look at these and delete the votes and/or accounts of users that seem dodgy - really dodgy.

But, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is happening here.

We all rate movies differently and it would seem that some of you don't like this movie as much as others - therefore you disagree with the ratings that it's getting. Why not talk about what you don't like or what can be improved rather than why some guy isn't voting the same way you would.

My vote depends on a few things - quality of AlamDV effects, enjoyment and effort. But we are all different and it doesn't really matter. Instead of explaining our voting critera, lets talk about the movies and how they can be improved.

I'll start.

"I rated this movie 4. To my eye the main things that could have been improved are the editing, but saying that, it does work well as a complete movie. It would be nice to see some live effects mixed in with those AlamDV ones to give more realism and power."

So there you have it - thats my ideas for improving the movie. Everyone's ideas will be different and thats the beauty of this. Lets not get angry with each other. If you don't want to help someone or suggest anything then whats the point of writing here.

I know people seem to vote strange amounts for some movies, but maybe it's because they see them from a different prespective. When I look back at "Fool Skool" and then at "Metal Gear Redux" I can see how cool you guys are getting and how all your effects are working better and better, not only in AlamDV but other apps. Then I view the professional work of Sollthar/No Control Cinema and wonder how they do those live effects and 3D.

This is my perspective, I bet yours is different.

Different People, Different Votes!

Maybe i've been a bit to critic. The test is a good clip. well done effects. actualy very good. how about joining us ??? (just kidding). i should have given you a 4. but its too late now.

As i have explained earlier, i dont see The Test as a complete movie. Its not a complete package. Thats why i did not give it a top grade. Did not mean to hurt your feelings Sollthar. The effects are wery well made. If you had taken the time to wrap it up with intro and end credits etc it would pass as a complete movie. Right now its a clip. Could be taken from a longer movie etc... At least, thats my opinion. Oh, and just for the record: I have not been talking for everyone in Pornogen, just for myself...

Lets stop fighting and all be friends biggrin

Thank you very much for the answer. You didn't hurt my feelings and I wasn't angry, actually I found this dialogue quite amusing... :)

I mean, I was never saying that your movie isn't good, in fact, I was really thinking about giving it a 5, but I gave it a 4 because I think there could be improvement in editing and cameraangles.

I just wondered about your quiet harsh statement and the relations between the votes you gave. But hey, everyone has his own opinion and tastes...

So I will add a title and endcredits next time, so everyone gets that it's a movie and not a clip... :)

sweet..

The movie started as an experiment during a party. Lets do this, lets do that... So Pornogen got together one sunday and went out in the woods. Hehe.. Quite funny watching one of them walking in just a t-shirt in about +5 degrees celcius. hEHEHE.... We did not even take our time to plan the scenes. We shot them right there in the forrest. We didnt even know how the movie would end (at the beginning of the day)...

The film, as i said, was an experiment. Its our first experience with alamdv (on film), so as you say much can be improved. We all learned a lot during the making, and believe me - the next one will be far better than this one...

Pornogen will always be one of the elite cutting-edge-movie-making-non-budget-kick-ass-groups out there on the web. You have now seen the beginning, and more will come. But Pornogen is more than movies. We want to entertain, and is currently building a website that will rock your system... So be patient and stay tuned!

as far as i know this little "film" was made in a hurry, and when reading they claim themselves as "elite-non budget" .. well. heh. god damn. pornogen guys: PLEASE think at least half a second before your thumbs write on the keyboard. this is so damn typical...

anyway.. i think its cool as hell to look at -all- films on this site.

why bother who's nr 1 or out of the list.

Ah...kissing and making up. I love it. wink

I'm gonna agree with Schwar, not becuase he's the "man", but because he's obviously open-minded. Having been the recent victim/target of some serious flaming and unwarranted/unjustified abuse/accusations I'd like to reafirm my agreement with his view: "Different Strokes for Different Folks!!!!" smile

This place is a godsend for amateur film-makers and special effects Ninjas.

Regardless, can you knock Ron Jeremy or Vivid Video for making the greatest titty flicks ever? No!

Can you claim that "Alien" wasn't a mighty addition to the Sci-fi film world, despite the fact that James Cameron went on to make a "floater" like "Titanic" (I still say the "Propeller Guy" desrved an Oscar for that stunt, hope he's got some Asprin in his pocket). No!

Hey, we can all forgive George for Episode I, what the fuck!? Hell yes!

Props to the "Porno" crew and the rest of you for your hard work, amusement, dedication and great films- even if they went uncredited (this includes the below average edits that appear as "Tests".....I include myself in this final "category").

Peace y'all. biggrin

OK, Ubermann, the founder of Pornogen writing.........

Seems like you guys have beeing busy discussing lately,,,, wellwell, thats cool.

My personal pornogen feeling and truth / view, is that everybody could post whatever they want here, and this is COOL.

I remember myself months ago downloaded one clip showing only ***one*** effect, but DAMN,,, i viewed it MANY times hehe;) and there are people here that may not have the resources every one else have, therefore SHORT clips,,,(lame/shit clips,, that someone called it)

i dont want to interupt the good feeling , hehe so just go on discussing , guys,,,,

Remember that Pornogen contains a couple of people, and mostly everyone in pornogen LOVES EVERYTHING on this site.

Pornogen loves ya all;) Good work guys;) Good work EVERYONE :=)

Übermann / lars@funcom.com wink

by the way: KV,, talking about pornogen the way you did is no prob, but let the guys talk for themself, do not protect anyone from getting pepper from pornogen. Wait untill I DO IT, as one of the Pornogen guys.....

, but remember that we are who we are, and that was the purpose, so let the guys discuss now ok? (übermann hands out a cold beer to KV)

Pornogens überall feeling is that everyone makes love with each other and congrads each other,, and greet each other.

Hi everyone smile

First of all I'd like to thank all of you who downloaded and made a comment on the film. I enjoyed reading all of it.

But most inportant I'd like to ask you this -> PLEASE IGNORE EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN WRITTEN BY "THOMAST" OR "UBERMASTER" (the same guy). Ignore every singel word of it please. We are no elite nothing or kickass anything ! We're just a group of guys who enjoy experimenting with amateur filmmaking. Amazing how he managed to turn all those positive responses into sht throwing and almost pure hate toward us.

And to all of you who made a clip or a film and received a patronizing comment from Ubermaster or Thomast, please accept my apology. Almost didn't believe my own eyes when I read some of the stuff he wrote. I see why many of you must feel insulted and pissed off. Againg I apologize. Keep up the good work guys smile

As said before, this film was only a test. The scenes were created right then and there as we shot them. Now that we all have seen how GOOD the results can get with this amazing program, we are gonna have a "sit down" (I guarantee your safety..hehe), and discuss our next project. Every scene and every character will be created and thoroughly adjusted on a piece of paper before we start shooting. We'll let you all know what happens and I hope you'll enjoy it.

Once again I apologize for his behaviour. We're here to entertain, not to make people sick smile Good luck on your future films all !

Ive been asked to take this movie down by the pornogen guys. Apparently they are having a few copywrite issues with the audio. Ive inquired about wether they will be doing a revised version we can put up. I'll keep you posted

I think that was pretty good for a first movie. I've been trying to edit, but i don't know how to use the tweening engine, hehe.

I loved all the funny ideas and how you handled it - just simple & effective.
Anyway, that's what I want to see (a mess of trash and all that in a right timing) and not uncreative adaptions.
Mmh, let me say...
...great!
Great,great,great!
I love Pornogen!

Very imaginative. Glad to see youwere afraid to "cross that line." I just got my software and looking forward to making movies.
