I was just wondering-how did everyone here find FXhome? This is just out of curiosity.

I'll start:
I found it through Google. Go GOOOOOOOOOOOOGLE!

And now that I'm here, I'm going to be the next super-user!

That wasn't weird. My cousin told me to buy Alam DV2, and that's how I found it.

I searched Google for iMovie plugins when I was about 13. Then I found it, we watched awesome cinema movies. Then I remembered it again when searched for greenscreening on Mac, then again when I found Virtix plugins.

Hehe, Virtix plugins. I used to download all the iMovie plugins, like the "ultimate fire" which just sent vertical flames all over the place. Pales in comparison to EL, and the sad thing is, I think the full version was like $100.

I was looking around on TheForce.net, and then I found From Bricks to Bothans, and that led to me seeing a fan-made SW III: Rise of the Empire Trailer made entirely of LEGO's. I read the Making-Of webpage and it said:

The lasers are by an After Effects plugin called Laser. I'm not overly fond of how they turned out so I might try AlamDV if I ever do lasers again.
and

Finally, I was confronted with trying to make an explosion. I didn't have AlamDV (and have yet to try it out) but I needed to come up with something.
I was intrigued. I searched AlamDV, and found a website called FXhome I looked around watched some movies and read some forums-particularily this one about AlamDV3. I kept coming back, about once a month, until late May when I got EL and joined up.

I found it the same way as Serpent... googling iMovie plugins.

Hehe, i wanted to buy a Virix bluescreening plugin for iMovie back in those days. Just another way how Fxhome saved my life, and $100. smile

Some guy in a Norwegian forum was making crappy films with effects. I asked him how he did that, hi wasn't to kean to tell anyone, but he told me after a while... I tried to download Alamdv2 but I had to buy it. And I was pleased with it. Short while after I bought chromanator.
Now I have EL.

And I totaly love this Community!

Nearly two years ago - on some google search on how to make lightsabers or something... FxHome showed up on like page 17 or something crazy like that. And I'm not kidding.

I was at tricofilms.com and I saw the "effectslab" and "chromanator" fxhome thing, so I went there and watched the trailer for effectslab, downloaded the demo, tried it out, failed miserably at making a lightsaber but decided to buy it anyway. biggrin

And now look at me! I'm a filmmaking machine!

Yojimbo, who is my friends uncle told him about AlamDV2. I Saw it and got it. Then made a username. Now, a year later, Boyocs (my friends and yojimbo's nephew) finally has a username. So confusing!

I was looking for pictures of tracers off of google and I tried to replicate them in photoshop (did not work very well) and then one of the the sites I was looking at, I noticed they had movies. And I read what software they used to make it and Alam DV came up so I thought to myself, "Self, I'm going to go check out this Alam DV for myself." And I did, so then I googled Alam DV and it brought me hear. And I've been here ever since. smile

lol.

I'll tell you my whole film history

A couple of years ago I was interesting in making cartoons, I made with my neighbour some crappy movies with paint and Windows Movie Maker razz

My had just bought a new camera (the Canon G2000 razz) and he wasn't using the cam, so I got his cam. And I began with making stupid movies, who were even more bad then Sith Formers.

After making that movie. I was thinking; "Maybe it should be cool if I had Effects in my movie."

Then I started searching on Google, I don't know what I typed. But I came out on Adobe After Effects.

On a day a friend (well, not a very good friend of me, but he hosts my site for free razz) who had very much DVD's with trials for programs (and even full versions eek ) and AlamDV2 was on it (at the trial section so don't worry FXHome razz) And on the CD it said: "An awesome program to make effects in your movies, like explosions and sparks." I tried the trial, and I liked it. Then a year past by, and I was cleaning my computer (the Hard disk) and I came on AlamDV2, I tried the program again. And the results were awesome. So I went to the site to buy the full program.

FXHome you're awesome ! biggrin

Best regards,

RRF Productions

Like all good stories mine started in the past, about 5 years ago I was looking on the News at www.theforce.net and saw the official press release www.alamdv.com had sent to them. I clicked that link and bought the program a few months later. Now I find myself completely helpless against returning here often and offering the CSB digital team what little help I can afford. In the old days before ALADV2 I spent alot of time modding and testing out CSB's new goods. But that was before kids, school and all that other stuff life throws at you to keep fun on the back burner. Regardless the site and community still offer interesting discussion and fun tools to play around with. I don't venture to think of what life would be without it. "schvvar" you are lucky I did not see the post when it first went up, I would have deleted it twisted

I did a search on the net in 2001 for "special effects program". I salivated over Boris Effects and AlamDV2 before opting for ADV2 a few months later.
