Matisyahu kicks ass. Honestly, he's the best hassidic jew reggae rapper out there. (Download "Chop 'Em Down" if you want to hear what he's like).

Generally, I'm just rock music.

Some of my favorite bands: Libertines, Television, David Bowie, Gogol Bordello, Radiohead, TV on the Radio, Arcade Fire, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Modest Mouse, Old 97s, TMBG...

Favorite Band of 2005: Either Gogol Bordello or Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (Haven't decided yet)

No, it's been medically proven that people who regularly blast out "Won't Get Fooled Again" & "Like A Hurricane" live three times longer than those who don't.

They are amazing - Untitled 4 / Njósnavélin from "( )" is one of the most beautiful and uplifting pieces of music I have ever listened to.

Have you heard M83? They have quite a similar sound.

P.S. Untitled 4 is great but Untitled 8 is the best song in my opinoin.

Hopefully I will recieve an iTunes gift card for Christmas, so I will proceed to buy plenty of Sigur Ros, Godspeed and Mogwai. Great music. On a side note, rrf, by hardcore are you referring to the genre of rap metal? Haven't you ever heard "Robbin' Hoodz" by Mash Out Posse? wink Kidding of course.

I DESPISE material Rap & Hip Hop: The BIG labels! 50 Cent, Jay Z, Ludacris etc... What a load of utter trash. How do people enjoy listening to some robotic-sounding moron spurting out a load of monosyllabic, tuneless balderdash?

It's usually about drive-bys, guns, murder, death, rape, going out and getting women pregnant etc... Just pathetic!

On the other hand, there is some fantastic rap/hip hop music out there, but what people don't realise is that the big labels aren't REAL rap artists. Rap is supposed to be intelligent, fast and witty, with a certain 'stand up' element to it. Those cretins get other people to write their songs (with stolen melodies usually from classic rock songs - or most of the time - just no melody at all, solely a stupid clap-clap thump-thump beat), and then they just learn the words. Want real rap? Look past the labels and find the real stuff.

I like rock mainly, although I'm also a fan of quirky alternative genres. There's not a single White Stripes song I don't like! System Of A Down are great, but very repetitive. Their new album lasted about 10 minutes for me, where as Mezmerize (the first part) had far more plays.

I'm kind of like rrfproductions... I like nearly all types of music!

Except Hip-Hop and Rap... I hate it... Though some "songs" are good...

I listen to everything from Coldplay to Iron Maiden.

My favorite band at the moment is Pink Floyd. 2th place SOAD.
I liked Green Day a lot just a few weeks ago, but I got so tierd of it.

I just found this, and I couldn't agree more.

R&B:

In the modern world, the best evidence of the strength of the "Sex Sells" motif, and the willingness of people to conform to anything that appears to rebel against former generations' ideas and beliefs in regard to morals. Usually regardless of the lack of sense in opposing these, such as the taboo against drug abuse.

Basically, it's incoherent songs about drugs and sex. The videos will always have scantily clad women in them, to distract male viewers from the fact the song is inherently crap.

Despite the fact R'n'B generally depicts women as sex objects, it as a genre is surprisingly popular among teenage girls. Turn on MTV. Too scared? Fine:

"Its gettin hot in here (so hot)
So take off all your clothes

(Female singer) I am gettin so hot, I wanna take my clothes off"

Imagine that repeating or being paraphrased in every new verse. That, I fear, is the current state of R'n'B.

Well my list would be very long, but a couple I really like are Red Hot Chili Peppers, System of a Down, Explosions in the Sky,
Deepcoiler you would like Mono and Mogwai if you like Explosions in the Sky. Great band.

My last.fm page is about the best indicator of my music interest. On the whole though, rock or metal.

Alternative
Modern Classical
Techno (not beeps and boops, I like Trance Control and stuff)
Some Punk
Rock
And a bit of other stuff

Bands/specific music I listen to I listen to:
VGMix.com stuff
OCRemix.com stuff
Green Day
Muse
Fallout Boy
Buckethead
Weezer
Pink Floyd
Film Soundtracks
Iron Maiden
American Hi-Fi
Bob Marley
Kyuss
Video Game music
Some Irish stuff
Led Zeppelin
Weird Al

I like some other stuff from various artists, but I am into all sorts of things.

Genres I HATE:
Heavy Rock (screaming and what not)
Blues
Jazz
ANY FORM OF HIP HOP (includes rap, R and B, pop)
Yelling Emo (don't mind normal emo)

That's my take on music, I listen to what sounds good, if it has interesting lyrics, cool. But it needs a good beat, lyrics is not the priorety, otherwise I would listen to poetry.
