I think that on the FXhome Preset Library, people who have the program(s) that the preset is available for can vote 1-5 stars, just like the Cinema. Unlike the Cinema, though, non-Gold Users cannot vote, and neither can the creator. This would provide more accurate feedback for "real" (you know what I mean wink ) users by "real" users, not just the FXhome team.

If this is not done, at least make a an option in the Preset Library to 'Sort By' the 'Rating' in the dropdown list.

Thank you for listening!

I say no, it would just clog it up, keep it simple I say. That system never worked with AlamDV2 plugins, users never really voted for presets. It would be inaccurate and probably misleading.

This sounds like a good idea, but doesn't this belong in the FXhome.com section? unsure Whatever.

I trust fxhome and how good they think the presets are.

I think it's still nice to have people review and rate like they did for AlamDV2.

At the very least, people should be able to comment on them, you know, request alterations or changes.

Normally, you could do that in a PM, but, that feels awkward sometimes (I'm sure I'm not the only person that enjoys reading other people's feedback on other things).

Maybe when a preset is posted, a new thread starts in a seperate forum, like the cinema.

(Speaking of that, the preview images for some images in the forums for the cinema are broken...)

I was thinking that myself - but instead of one thread per preset (which would be a LOT of theads)..maybe one thread per person that submits a preset. Then, the first post contains the info about their first preset, and for their second preset their first post is automatically edited so that it adds in the info for the second one as well.

(just an idea...you know...)

We did consider member voting for the presets but it never really worked for the old AlamDV2 plugin section like Serpant said. I think the problem was the shear number of plugins meant each individual one was lucky to get more than 1 or 2 votes. Voting isn't very useful unless you have a large number of votes to create a decent average from. We expect to have far more presets than plugins, so I think it'd be even more of a problem with them.

You can actually search by our preset rating already. If you add something like "award:gold" to your search string then it'll only show the gold rated presets.

I would like to have preset comments. One thread for each preset would obviously be overkill. Even one thread per author is pushing it (we're planning on bjillions of presets smile ). phpBB isn't really ideal for this sort of thing. A better solution might be a custom, more lightweight system where you could just leave comments directly on each preset info page without creating new threads. Its something we'd consider for the future, but for now its probably easiest to just leave requests in the request forum.
