Newcastle.

I've always wondered why they call it American Football and Rugby Football. It's stupid. You don't play with your foot in those sports, apart from when kicking.

FC Bayern

I lived in Germany for 4 years, and this is the team I grew up supporting, simply for that reason.

Big time 49ers fan. Too bad they blew the Bush bowl and are looking at about a 7th pick instead of 1st or 2nd.

I've always wondered why they call it American Football and Rugby Football. It's stupid. You don't play with your foot in those sports, apart from when kicking.
Back in the medieval times, games played by the pesants were played "on foot", as opposed to the rich people's games which were played on horseback. As such, the name refers to the lack of horses rather than the use of the foot to kick the ball. So "foot-ball" games were any game which involved a ball but no horses.

And then from that you get the various types of 'football' - rugby football invented at Rugby School, or "Association Football" governed by the Football Association rules, known as 'soccer', short for 'association', in much the same way rugby is known as 'rugger'. And then of course, there's the American game that became known as American football, as well as a variety of other football games.

You learn something new every day smile

Cheers,
Arktic.

I would have to say Manchester United, only because of Eurotrip.

As for American Football, on the pro level, I'm a fan of the Rams and the Titans. On the College level, I live in Nebraska, and you simply can't live here and not love the Huskers so...

NFC Dallas Cowboys - My favorite team my entire life.

AFC Indianapolis Colts - Manning is amazing.

College Football TEXAS (Hook'em) - I'm from Austin, and I attend the University of Texas, so I'm not a band-wagon jumper.

As far as Soccer I know quite a bit, I come from a Latin family, but don't care enough to pick a professional team so I say Brazil. If they don't rawk the World Cup then there is nothing just in this world.

And I was talking about American football, not English football! wink

We do have a soccer team in Chicago (website here). I think they are pretty good, because they were one round away from going to the championship game...but nobody I know cares about soccer, really. In America, it's football and basketball in the winter and baseball in the summer.

Arsenal.

Football is played with the feet. You guys should rename your sport to

'Hand-throw-wait-around-a-bit-then-try-and-catch-it-hut-hut-Ball'

It could be the HTWAABTTACIHHFL!
Just think about it alright? Leave the football title to the actual sport it represents?

But really, I support Tampa Bay, beacuse the year I watched the Superbowl I think they won.

Rugby > NFL IMO, but they are both fantastic sports. In fact, NFL seems to be popular in England too. Quite a few of my mates know all the teams and player names.

I also support London Wasps, although Toulouse destroyed us this afternoon sad

Reading this post reminded me how stupid we Americans are. When i read this, I of coarse thought of American Football.

Then I remembered, our soccer is Europes Football.

Now, lets think, its a sport, that you use your foot and a ball, football. But of coarse, we name it soccer, and we give "Football" to a sport that only uses there Feet to touch the ball about 2% of the game, lol.
