Would anybody be able/willing to create an asteroid preset, or something very similar to it? I mean one that is traveling through space. I'm still very new to the program (haven't had much time to use it) thus I'm no good yet at creating these myself. Anyway, if someone could make something that would be great!

That would be a strange thing to do in EffectsLab... you need 3D for that. Of course you could render textures and create a lot of asteroids, but it still looks better if you do it in a 3D-app.

The tail effect of an asteroid coming through the atmostphere could be done nicely with a particle effect, but the asteroid itself, while it is in space, would best be accomplished by stock footage solution. A 3d render, as Erfa suggested, or film a clip of an actual rock in front of a greenscreen and comp that in.

Thanks for the thoughts, guys...I was actually thinking of the "film a rock in front of a green screen" idea...I see what you're talking about though with the difficulty of makign a rock flying through space. Maybe I'll try the green screen and create the effects around it. I'll be picking up C-Lab in February.

Thanks again for the responses, sorry for the goofy request!

Hey. I made some stock footage. If you would like it you can download it here: http://files.filefront.com/stockfootagemov/;4633894;;/fileinfo.html
