Does anyone know how effectlab and vision lab compare to using adobe after effects and particular? Im trying to figure out what creates the most realistic effects, and what is preferred.

EffectsLab and VisionLab create effects. After Effects primarily is a compositing tool. Some effects, such as luminance and lightning, can be created, but for the most part, it is used for compositing previously created effects into a project.
As far as keying, the toolsets in VisionLab are more extensive than the standard version of AE. I haven't worked with the pro bundle of AE, which does have advanced capabilities.
If creating realistic effects is what you are after, the FXhome products win. For general compositing, After Effects is more established due to being around longer, but VisionLab does a great deal of what AE is capable of.

It depends on what you want to make.. The FXhome products are FAR more easy to use, and creates perfect FX! (That's my opinion at least!)

When it comes to creating realistic effects, the most important factor is the filmmaker/user, rather than the software. All of the mentioned programs are capable of creating very realistic effects, it just depends how well you can use them. The FXhome route is cheaper, though.

Thanks everyone for your imput, see i already own After Effects Pro., and was wondering if i could benifit from the fxhome products. Also, the reason the compare so closely is that After Effects also has particle effect plug-ins which have more capabilities than Effects Lab. But i would agree with tarn, some of my most astonishing effects were created with very simple software and methods, so you can make the best of whatever you have.
