I've seen Lord of the rings, Star wars fan films. But never have i seen spiderman fan film. What's up with that? Is it hard for you guys to do or what? I am big fan of spiderman. I really want to see some fan films of him.
My next big project is going to Spiderman fan film. I would love to do it. The only problem is, i don't think i can make it until next year. I don't really have equipments to use at home in the summer. But next year, i am going to have 2 computer classes again. School has camaras and everything. So i would use that. From now until then, i would keep working with CG and special effects to get myself ready. Ofcourse i would want to play the spiderman part. Adding CG effects and CG spiderman would be so cool in some parts. And not to mention i would need to get in better shape and do some stunts. Wow, i am getting all excited thinking about it.
If you ever get a chance to make fan film, please try to do spiderman.

And i forgot to mention. The closest thing i did to spiderman is the webing. This short movie i made for school project at school. I had the spider web coming out of my hand couple of times. It was pretty cool with webing sound. I also made and animated spiderman in Flash mx. It was also in a movie. Looked really nice.

Well a big part of Spiderman is the webslinging through the city. And thats pretty hard to make look believable and not cheesy, especially being an ameture. I mean I guess one could make a film with out it but thats like having a superman fan film with no flight, just wouldnt feel right.

Oh come on. If you can do star wars with great CG effects, then what's stopping you from doing spiderman?
It doesn't have to be in the city unless you use the green screen and make the CGI city. The town i live is wide and open. It only has like couple big buildings in downtown area but not even close to like New York. But that's not going to stop me from making it.
Having spiderman swinging can't be that hard. Why not have 2 spidermans. One real and one CG. Heck i am working on CG spiderman right now.
My idea is having a real actor(myself) in spiderman suit swinging aross places with a rope. But i can take the rope out and make it web instead. Of course it'll take alot of acrobatic skills but i would do it. For the really high places. I'll use CG spiderman.
The only problem is, that i don't have a spiderman suit. I don't want to buy those cheep spiderman suit from the market. They look fake and horrible.
But hey, i am going to try it no matter what.
The video you asked for. Well my computer crashed and all those videos along with my other work got deleted. I don't have em on my computer right now. But i do have them saved at my school computer.

It sounds like you are really, really interested in doing a Spiderman Fanfilm. Then go out and do it. You don't need to convince anyone on here to make one. But if that is your goal just like in all movies it's better to show not say.
Do one, let us all see your vision. Perhaps then you will inspire us.

First of all i am not trying to convince anyone to make spiderman movie. All i am saying is that we have seen famous fan films yet no spiderman fanfilm. I guess nobody really have a passion for making spiderman.
Just give me time and i will do it no matter what.
Spiderman 3 movie is coming in 2007. It's getting me so existed. Even more exiciting is that Venom is in it. Venom is so cool and bad@$$. They should have him either mostly or fully CGI. I can't wait to see the movie. This movie will really be inspiring!

Hm, I'd say Spider-Man rather requires New York. The main reason he is based there is so that he has lots of stuff to swing from. That's not to say he can't go elsewhere, of course - he's gone all over the place in the comic. But he's still a New Yoiker at heart.
Of course, you could work it into the story and give him a reason for being outside NY, and make a point of him being annoyed that there aren't enough tall buildings.

Heh, if I got the powers of Spiderman, I'd be pissed. Cause there are no tall buildings in my town
Anyway, if you want to see a Spiderman fanfilm, I might make one actually, just for fun.

For a fan film, it doesn't have to have a city and big buildings. But you could make a 3d city. Though you gota have huge green screen for the action.
If you like to make spiderman, go ahead and make it. I would really like to see it. And i'd also be working on mine.

I am watching it right now and thought i post my thoughs on it so far. First of all, it was halirous! I mean come on, what can yo expect from 1970 film? The music was funny, i lauged so hard! It's alright film so far. Some camara shots are again funny compared to what we know and can do today.
Wow, the technology has improved so much since 1970.

People, like you, say they want to make a Spiderman movie, and do it. They usually come out bad because they're executed poorly and the cost-benefit ratio isn't weighe before actually starting the movie. Spiderman rewuires large buildings, webs, and CG; something much harder to do (and make look good for that matter) than your average rotoscoping or matte painting in a SW flick. Bottom line: few have made spiderman movies because few have the means.

Of course i can not make a Hollywood like spiderman movie. But i want to do it for fun. Trust me when i say it, if you have the knowledge, the film will come out good. Unless you're a ameture who doesn't know filming making, editing softwares, and CGI.
So far i've made 2 films since this semester. And i am very pleased with them. Especially the second one. I am now trying to learn more about filming and doing CG work.
Come on man, you can't really say the spiderman movie i'll make be poor. If i take the time, and do everything percisely with care, it will look good. Though i get what you are saying. I would say the same to other people.
It's about time we should see 21 century spiderman fan films. I mean, look at us. We have the tecnology in our hands. We got more knowledge and better equipments. That 1970 spiderman movie is way old and too funny now.
Spiderman fan film can be made. It's just that people are afraid of risking it. They are afraid it would turn out to be horrible. If you don't have a confident in you and not puting your faith in the film, of course the film is going to fail.
Isn't this what we are all about? Trying out new things? Make it better?

Actually. Then again, have you Seen spiderman 1 and 2? Those films weren't out when he made that in 1992. There was this one terrible spiderman film, but it sucked to much to even watch. Thus, there wasn't anything to compare it to. Whereas with starwars you you mainly need to know Rotoscoping and Greenscreen, Spiderman needs all that plus some Very convincing animation, Sprawling, highly detailed cityscapes with traffic and pedestrians etc..
And If it didn't turn out Top notch, It can turn Unintentionally funny Very fast. Especially in the animation department.
Now, I'd personally rather see a punisher fanfilm. Or a Wolverine fanfilm. Or something not based on such High production values.
It's kind of like why you never see James bond fanfilms that are very good. The set pieces were always meant to be exotic and Expensive, Thats alot of the appeal of it.

Correct. I still can't stop laughing at the japaniese spiderman. lol.
All i am saying is, it's still possible to make a spiderman fanfilm without it being funny. But it would require alot of work and focus.
The only problem is, people don't fully try it or really have all the knowledge before shooting the film.

The person that takes a film like this on has to have some serious CG skillz for doin spidermans action. And if not, you better find like an olympic gold medalist in gymnastics to play him or the film could be weak, if not corny..
... not even a silver medalist shall suffice

The best Spider man fan film I have seen was, "Spider-Man: The Peril of Doc Ock
" by Spite Your Face, and I think they are animators payed by the LEGO Compony
