FXhome under attack!

Early this morning the FXhome logo was badly damaged in a sudden and unprovoked machine gun attack. It didn't take malone long to track down the perpetrators of this heinous act, at which point we unleashed xcession. Needless to say, we don't think they'll be trying it again.

On the plus side, we just so happened to have a camera pointing in the general direction of the logo and caught the entire attack on video!

Despite the danger to his own life, Cogz ran in and managed to retrieve the footage, which we were surprised to find made for a rather good credit animation.

Product updates coming soon!

We've got some exciting updates on the way for all FXhome products. Having kept a close eye on the community over the last couple of months, we've been busy implementing changes and improvements in all areas, based on your feedback.

Here are some of the highlights to look forward to:

• Speed improvements to the render engine - up to 10x faster in some cases! Everything should be a little bit faster, but some projects will experience a huge speed boost when rendering.

• Color sampling in mixed media projects is now much more efficient.

• Improved keying quality in CompositeLab and VisionLab HD.

• Easy access to filter presets using the new FXpreset timeline button and Effects browser weblink.

• Auto-update functionality added - never miss an update or new features and have it download automatically!

• Redesigned preferences dialog.

• Lots of cosmetic changes to improve the appearance and use of the interface, plus various issue fixes and other additions.

Keep an eye on FXhome.com to make sure you don't miss out!

Competition enters final month!

Somehow we've already hit the second month of 2006 (where does the time go?), which can only mean one thing: the competition deadline is creeping up on us again - and this time there won't be an extension!

If you want to be in with a chance of winning VisionLab HD, worth over $500, now's the time to get filming!

Click here for info on the competition.

The clock is ticking!

I can't wait for the update especially the faster rendering. I haven't had and won't have a chance to make anything for the competition but I'm looking forward to seeing what other people come up with.

I believe jstow222 was referring to a preset for the effect Tarn used in the animation clip. Gleam is already there, but we don't have many presets for it yet...

So when do we get the graphic for scrolling credits? These fancy logo's look great but just don't have the vintage feel I want my film to have. (Not that I need it real soon or anything)

Who makes these credits movies? They are well made, and I want the creator to know that he is good at making those... (belive it's Tarn or Schwar)

Anywho, would you accept fans to make their own credit movies? I've got a few ideas...

Yeah, I've got some ideas as well, and that way the creators could get rid of the DivX logo...! wink

If you've got a cool credit clip then send it over, we'll definitely take a look.

The DivX logo is added by the DivX decoder to anything it plays. We don't add it on the actual movie. You just need to turn it off in your options.

What version are you using? The latest version is v1.000.938. If you're using an earlier version then you should update.

heh i typed that message before i updated to the new fx lab with the new enhancements, i really love the upgrade, so i dont have a problem like that anymore, but it does seem to render slowly and cause the clip to be in slow motion when rendered, for instance i rotoed a 5 second scene it rendered as a 2 min 28 second one, is this fixable?
