You know I was watching the eLab trailer (i don't know if there is a new one but i beleive it was like the first) and i thought the effects were amazing! (not that they're not now but) i think there should be some like that cuz that was exactly what i need for my movie!! Yes there may not be much on the tailer but what there were was awsome. The magic on the guys hands and the spectacular power ball! It looked so realistic. I to am going to try to make some but for those who are better at making presets then me (like all of you) i was wondering if anyone could? trust me it's exactly what i need and no doubt what others need. Thnx!

A lot of the presets can be combined to make something, like this, and a few others: http://fxhome.com/presets/info_cache/preset335.html

The fireball was stock footage (the one that hits the shield I believe), and they better upload it to FXVault, because it was indeed awesome.

That's what i think! Although I'm not sure about the little magic thing in the one guys hands i think those might be particles or soemthing. But i really like the fire stuff spinning around the guy..totally fantasy and sci-fi! exactly what I need. I think that the Fxhome Team needs to put some of those effects on!

However i'm working on something kinda like the magic in the one guys hand that you can't really see cuz it goes to fast but take a look!

You know what...maybe i should add a whole bunch of presets together and make 'em into stock footage for this! But I still think there should be presets for some of this stuff!

PS the fireball in the trailer reminded me of the eLab Logo!

It's been a long time since I saw the trailer, but is this somthing similar to what you're looking for? It's a preset I made the other day. Submitted it yesterday, so it might be up at the presets download soon. Here it is:

What do you think?

That's pretty cool! I couldn't beleive that not making. I'm not sure if it's exactly what i'm talking about but i'm definitely going to use that one! I wonder....Cuz the smoke was more multi-colored look but still realistic (like yours). )Nice optics glow by the way i'm going to have to remember that if i download that preset!)

So I've been working on some stock footage made from eLab Presets the beginning is really cool but..uh..just take a look!:

What do you think? Still looks abit cheesy, i know. And in the future there'll be more from where that came from!

No, actually I think it looked pretty good...! biggrin With a displacement map and some camera shake that'll turn out quite dramatic! Looked a bit like a tooth, though... wink

lol. It does doesn't it! I'm just trying to make it look like how they did...i'll probably work on it! Displacement map? oh you mean like heat haze or somehing? Displacement map makes it look like invisible. But good idea! I wanted to do a camera shake but i don't know how to do that on eLab. cLab or vLab may work but i don't have those, so.... I'll try to think up something! But heat haze will work well...or waves...(like on the grading filters).

Oooh! I just thought of an excellent idea! How about I make some stock footage of thaty agian but use a particle effect for the little tail things (that looks like a tooth) and just mask it out and then make that stock footage then i'll be ready for FXVault! Well, if i do that and it turns out good i'll put it on my website and when that happens i'll post it in this topic! razz

That really looks awesome, with the changes/adittional improvements that Oeyvind mentioned it could/would look a lot more dramatic, but it is still very good smile

Well Done

Yeah, you should do some stock footage! biggrin You can never get enough resources...! wink Oh, and just a little tips: You can make smoke and fire on the same particle effect just by changing the colors like this:

That way the fire will turn into smoke after a while (you descide when) in a very realistic way. Oh, and it helps if you add at least one smoke texture by the other flame textures....! Just a tips! biggrin

Oeyvind

EDIT: Oh, and if those colors are to look good, you should composite the effect with the "add" compositing mode.

Hey thnx! I kinda got a look i want now! For the fireball that he throws and the other guy blocks it with a garbage can lid. What do you think!? The second one is something new i wanted to try that i'm putting into stock footage!

it gives the dangerous look of welding sparks! Don't forget to wear goggles! hehe. So is there a way on cLab or vLab to make something like this sortof reflect on googles or a face. Cuz i saw a tutorial for croma and it looks cool can you do that in the new ones. I hoping on buying one of them soon...i don't know how soon it could be a while...?

PS is FXHOME TEAM making a movie? Cuz if they're not they should! With all the stuff they've made for tutorials, trailers, etc. I bet it would be unbeleivable!

From the tutorial (which is in the link above) i made the fireball how they did...and it was the hardest thing in the world! I had to open up a simple picture still of Air Explosion 01 (from ALAMDV2) and there i was done just had to add on a blur...sounds hard huh?

Ahh, you used an explotion, so that's what you did...! wink It looked cool! biggrin I liked the second one too! smile Great work! They're gonna look cool in a movie! Can't wait to see...! And yeah, the FXhome Team should defenitly make a movie of their own!!! I'm not very much on the cinema (having a 56kbs modem...! wink ) but I think some of them might have made something... A test or something, but I'm probably wrong.

Well i meant the explosion as another option for a fireball. Just add a brighter contrast with 'Contarst : Pro' and it looks perfect when it's moving! The croma tutroial works the same in eLab! wink

PS you can see the magic energy ball thingys that i have created includin the yellow one from a few post up of mine.

Yellow power ball: http://fxhome.com/presets/info_cache/preset370.html

Multi-colored (sliver rated) energy ball: http://fxhome.com/presets/info_cache/preset352.html
