My Aunt lives in Washington, PA... Well what is offically being called Steelers, PA until tomorrow. She said the Steeler's fans are insane.

Pep rallies everywhere, People waiting in line at 6 AM for Steeler's Merch when the store is open year round. They are closing bars in Pittsburgh for tonight because of the mob scene it will cause one way or the other.

Lets not forget the fact the renamed a town because they didn't want anyone to think any part of PA supported the Seahawks.

So, I'm voting Steelers because I fear for my Aunt, Uncle and Cousin's lives if they loose.

Seahawks, I guess.

The way I see it, if the Bears (W0000T! GO CHICAGO!!) got beaten by the Panthers, and the Panthers got beaten by the Seahawks, then we know we lost to a team that lost to the best team in the NFL, so that's mildly comforting. (Also, the Bears are technically the 6th or 5th best team in the NFL based on the playoffs and whatnot....sort of.)

Overall, I like the Seahawks chances, but it will come down to Seattle's offensive line staying strong.... I'm guessing 24-17, Seahawks. (I know it's a high score, but whatever! biggrin )

If anyone predicts the correct score and winner and posts it here, I'll give them 50 force points. (The prediction has to happen before the game, and in the event of a tie, whoever guessed first wins! Any other questions can be PM'd to me.)

I cannot stand Bill Cowher so I'm picking the Seahawks 27-24 in a close game.

Oh and I live 30 minutes outside of downtown Detroit and things are crazy around here. Random info I know but I just thought I'd say that. smile

I also dont like him so I want the seahawks to win. They are destined to because they changed their uniform recently and we all know that is what makes a superbowl winner (just look at tampa, denver or baltimore).

Seriously though since the steelers beat the unstoppable colts, who have a quite similar style, I think they have a good chance and I suppose the bus does deserve a ring before he retires. It all depends on whether seattle can mix it up because they are not quite so devoted to the pass as indianapolis.

Yeah that was some BS. You would think in the age of motion independent marker lines and graphics they would be able to tell electronically whether or not the ball actually crossed the plane.

Definately a TD...

when rothlisberger was in the air you can see the ball come in line with the very front of the white endzone line...

as long as ANY part of the ball breaks the plane of the front of the white line, its a touchdown

go steelers!!!

got 100 bucks on this lol

His elbow barely broke the line and the ball was well behind that. I think its just wishful thinking on your part. The ref seems to have 100 bucks on them too, either that or he is scared of being mobbed by the crowd!

The umpires are all obviously biased. They even have a terrible towel in their pockets! razz

Well that call before when Seattle "scored" first and they called Offensive Pass Interference was Bull. Steve Young and Michael Irvin both agreed on that.

Oh well doesn't matter now Seattle just scored w00t.

Yeah plus there was a 4th and inches when they obviously got it but they had to punt cos the guy spotted the ball about a foot back from where he landed.

I loved that block on rothelsburger. smile

If I hear "Roflsburger" one more time I am going to slit someone's throat. I think the announcers said it because they thought it sounded cool and it made them feel significant.

Agreed. With the horrible officiating and all the dropped passes on Seattle's part, I could barely watch it.

I'm happy for Bettis though. I guess he earned it.

Oh and Magic_man12 that was not a touchdown.

Yeah they were long, hardly automatics.

I really wonder if there hadnt been so many harsh calls if Seattle would have continued totally pounding them rather than the huge momentum shift that there was.

I thought they sucked. Well past it. People should tell them they look ridiculous and sound crap and let them get old gracefully. Personally I would have had the big motown thing at half time.

Personally, I think that if the offensive pass interference call wasn't made and Seattle had made it 7-0 there with the way that Pittsburgh was playing, Seattle would probably have won.

Or Hasselbeck's "block below the waist" when he was making the TACKLE!!!

But still, we made it to the Super Bowl for the first time in 30 years. I hope Alexander stays...

I'm a 49ers fan so I had no true rooting interest in the game. There were some controversial calls, but what made no sense to me is that how no one is mentioning the no calls on the Seahawks offensive line tackling the Steelers defensive line! So many holding calls that were not called. Personally, all the yards that Seattle gained on these holds is a wash with the other poor calls. Even if Ben doesn't get in, they most likely get in on 4th down or at least get a field goal. The Steelers still scored coming out strong in the 3rd and were on the door if not for a poor pass by Ben at the goalline. Even then, Hasselback threw an INT so he can't blame that on the refs. The Steelers made Alexander a non factor. Not one of the best games in SuperBowl history. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, their future is uncertain with Alexander; I think he is well deserving of his MVP title but not a gamebreaker who can put a team on his back when they needed him. His whole O-Line was litterally holding up the Steelers D. smile If he can't run enough there to be a factor....Well it just wasn't the Seahawks day.

Anyone who says I am just saying this for the Steelers benefit is dead wrong. Like I said, I am a 49er fan, and would not want any more teams tying the 9ers 5 SB win record.

BTW, 9ers are the only team to never lose a SB in their record 5 appearances. smile

They have no reason to hang their heads, the Seahawks, they overcame a lot. Proved A LOT of people wrong and had a great season. It's time to hit the weight room and get ready for another great season next year!
