Well, you almost need the displacement map () for that... I can't think of any other way. sad

Yeah, the displacement map is the thing that makes me wanting to buy Pro. (and the HD support of course wink )
But, well, we DV users just gonna have to make our way. You know what you could do, you could make something out of the waves fx, and mask it out behind the bullet. I've made a shockwave that way once, it turned out quite cool, actually..! wink You could try to use that method.

Before the bullet trail i had made an effect sort of like it (unfortunately it wasn't the kinda quality that they were looking for on FXHome but) it looked pretty cool i mean it was short and simple (but actually it wasn't a bullet trail it was heat ray vision like clark kent or superman that was made from a displacement map! )

simple reason, i have no money, and no ability to make it since i am not a citizen of the country i live in.

It'd be really nice if someone would make a preset for DV users please!!! razz

I'm afraid that requires displacement mapping, a feature not in the DV version.

You could use Blender for this, that is what I use. There is a tutorial somewhere on the internet on how to do this in Blender (including displacement mapping) but I do not remember the link. I'll write something up for you tommorow if I can't find it by then.

Presets are effects that are created using the grading filters or the effects engines in the FXhome software. 3D bullets cannot be created in the FXhome software, therefore they cannot be presets. If you want 3D bullets, you can download the AlamDV2 plug-ins and convert them into stock footage or you can check out the ones at Detonation Films.

This is just what I was looking for, I only just purchased Effects Lab Pro a few days ago and I've been trying to create the heat ray vision effect, if it's possible could you create a tutorial so I could see how to create it.
