New installers are now available for all FXhome products. There are major new features and improvements to all programs so we recommend everybody upgrade their products as soon as possible.

Here's some of the highlights to look forward to:

• RADICAL render engine enhancements - We've totally re-engineered the render engine to offer quality and speed improvements. Export rendering can be up to 10x faster, although the difference will depend greatly on the project.

• SPEEDIER timeline caching - The timeline cache system has been optimised to make scrubbing around your project feel faster and more responsive.

• EXCITING auto-update system - Never miss another update again! The auto-update system will check FXhome.com for you and let you know if there's a new version of your product. Even better, it will then download the update in the background and install it the next time you start the program! Be sure to have your FXhome.com login details nearby so that the auto-update can do its job properly!

• IMPROVED keying quality - CompositeLab and VisionLab both benefit from more accurate colour sampling and better handling of mixed media projects.

• NEW quickstart guides - Due to popular demand, we've put together some quickstart guides to help new users and people trying out the demo. EffectsLab now comes with a funky lightsword creation guide, while CompositeLab leads you through your first greenscreen shot!

• JAZZY cosmetic tweaks - Many changes to the interface to aid workflow. Grading presets can be applied using a handy 'FX' button in the track listing. Additional links to the FXhome.com Preset Library. Muzzle flash rotation wheels made clearer. Preferences dialog re-designed and tidied.

• Much, much MORE! Check the changelogs on the specific download pages for full details.

Click here to head to the universal downloads page!

We hope you enjoy the update, keep sending your feedback to FXhome.com!

The priority with rendering is always quality, which is why it can often end up being quite slow. The new engine is much, much nippier, however. In projects I've been working on it makes everything much faster and more productive - particularly if you're working primarily with grading filters, which can be quite unbelievably speedy now.

Chromanator is no longer in development, sorry. confused

Yayy, updates. I always found the long rendering times to sometimes make minor effects not even worth it, but i'll have to see what this new version can do.

Blurs now seem to render much faster then they used to and the timeline caching is soo much faster.

One thing I would like to change is the ability to be able to save size presets, becouse I am using a setup that is not standered (1280x720, 23.98fps, square, progressive; and for quick movies I often use 640x360, 15fps, square, progressive)

Nice update! Can't really fell the speed of the render engine, it was quite slow yesterday (could be because I tried compositing a HDV clip with overload grading effects razz).

Nice system with the autoupdate.

SlothPaladin - For your standard settings, first choose the 720P|25 preset, then change your framerate to 23.98. That should work.

Yeah it does, but you could save custom sizes in Chromanator, it would be a nice feature, not really necessary, but nice.

I have a question about the Installers !!!
I have never tried it before but is it possible to install a new Installer of effects Lab Pro right onto the old one to update it or do I always have to install it new again ??

I am sorry if this was questioned somewhere before, but I do not have the time to search for it right now !!!!
