Excellent! Even better than your previous teaser. I really like the way you're promoting this movie, with these little diary teasers. Gives a good sense for the movie's tone.

Mood is perfect in this, with a very atmospheric look to every shot. Some innovative effects work too, although the composites could be tidied up. When the tank commander is looking out the top of the tank, for example, it doesn't really convince.

Plus the subtitles were tiny, although that was due mainly to the tiny size of the video file. Any chance of a higher res version?

Good stuff, misses out on 5 stars due to the compositing. Fix that, and you'll have something really special. smile

thanks, im new at the effects stuff, and it's some thing i really want to improve on, as you can see it's far from perfect. I'm glad you liked the teaser, completely different pace to the last, i have now altered the british teaser's contrast so for those interested they can actually see whats going on, The tank as you prob know is a model, from this little teaser i can see there is a few amendments to be made to sell the shots. But im glad it meets with your approval, next up will be the trailer for the movie, but don't expect that until August-September time.

Thanks Again

Very impressed. Good to see you're using the software for something different. I'll be honest - when you posted the images of the model tank i was sceptical but i was really impressed with how its turned out. Yes the one shot of the Soldier looking out while the tank was moving didnt look the best, but the rest was really nicely shot and composed.

Looking forward to seeing this once its completed.

Well done.

This is indeed very different from the first one - wich is cool. It's nice to see you're actually giving both sides enough room. smile

The first shot of the tank commander walking to the tank looks great! As said, some of the compositing could use a bit of work, but visually, this is already pretty interesting and very moody (Gotta love the nazi-flag shot!), even though a little too dark in places.

Never the less, I must admit I don't like this Teaser though for several reasons:

The voiceover acting doesn't sound believable to me, to say the least.
It sounds like someone reading a text, but acting wise - it's pretty off. Same with what he actually says. It sounds very much like written text, if you know what I mean. (Could be due to the delivery, I don't really know)

Same for the last shot where he yells "fire".
I know it's only one word, but even so, it's very badly acted. I hate to say it, but it actually made me smile - wich is the last thing you'd want when being dramatic.

The choice of music was good, but the sounddesign wasn't well mixed. I had to read some of the subtitles to understand what he was saying in two places.
And the first shot is followed by some odd sounds (Sounds like footsteps of the commander, allthough they don't match his footsteps at all and would be far too loud?)

Visually and from structure, this is up to par with the british teaser - even better in places. But the acting totally kills it and makes it very amateurish and even somewhat unintentionally funny.

I'm well aware that most of your target audience will be english speaking and so couldn't care less if the acting on the german part is any good or not - judging from my previous posters, they don't even notice. But for everyone who does understand german, this teaser falls flat and if the acting in the movie is anything like this, it will take severe harm.

And that would be a real shame since you put so much effort into your work and since the british acting, as far as I can tell from the other teaser, is on a much higher level.

I will go over the sound, this issue needs to be addressed, the recoerding of his voice was too low at the source, hence the poor sound level,as for the acting, this is one problem i don't know how to address. Because im English i find it hard to gauge how well he's acting in comparrison to other people, I will talk to him, i know he's going to be gutted at the acting comments, he put so much time and effort into it, im concentrating alot of effort through the acting as that will sell the story, so German or English it needs to be good, no excuses. As for the effects, it's my first time smile but point is taken they need to be better, and tarn has put forward some pointers in helping with these funny edges i keep getting. I'll work on the teaser and re-do the vo, it needs to be good, and if it sounds funny, im going in the wrong direction, i am listening to all your comments, i want to make this good, and with this feedback hopefully i get it right for the movie smile

Looks very good! smile I like the thing that you see the war from serval sides and points of view. biggrin The tank was very well done, but it was something about the flag.. I think it did the same movement about three times. It could have been just me though...! wink Was it digitally? Great grading, I liked that. Looking forward to it alot! biggrin

Have you considered having the German cast speak English, but with their natural German accents? That way you would be able to direct their acting carefully, which I'm sure you're capable of as the VO in the British teaser was really nicely done.

Foreigners speaking English with an accent isn't an ideal solution, I know, but it's preferable to having the actual German language spoken incorrectly.

It's a tough call.

im going to have them speak German, but work really close with him, It would seem too fake if he was speaking English with a German accent, but as sol said it could destroy the movie, but that's a risk im willing to take. I'm gutted by Sol's comments tbh as i really value his opinion, but as he said, it needs work, and thats what im going to do, work hard to make this better, im gonna reshoot some footage re-do some of the effects and get this back up and running in a couple of weeks, hopefully the improvements make a huge difference to atmosphere and mood, for those that do understand German hopefully the acting will be better. smile

Actually, I thought the German dialog was quite good (I'm German). It could use a bit more conviction and emotion in some parts, but overall it was fine I'd say! smile

Well done.

This was a particularly good trailer. The only thing that looked kind of odd was the flag. It seemed to do the same exact movement several times as if it were a loop of some kind. Other than that, really good. I can tell this is going to be a great finished film.

I liked this, but it for a teaser it didn't seem to entice enough, or evoke as much suspicion or mystique as the British teaser did. For this reason, I gave it a 2/5.

I thought this trailer was bloody good. I live in Austria, so I understand german. The narrator is pretty good, but sometimes one does not understand what he saying because of the volume...the background musik is too loud at some points.
Th effects look pretty good.

all in all, nicely done !!

4/5 from me biggrin

cheers,
d.

This was done very nicely. Where did you tape the scenes and where did you get any of the other footage that you used?

All the footage shot was our own, we didn't use any stock footage, we filmed all the ext shots in exactly the same place where the british soldier scene was filmed for the Brit teaser, and all the Int shots were done in an old armoured vehicle, the flag was filmed in my friends bedroom and i mounted the cam to my car to capture the moving background for the ext open tank top scenes. All filming was in Devon, the shot's of the tank was a R/C model 1/16th scale.
