Could someone make a preset of lightning shooting towards the camera for Effects Lab? Any help would be appreciated.

It's going ok right now. I've been pretty busy the past few days and haven't really had a chance to do much work on it. I saw Oeyvind's lightning preset
and thought it looked pretty good so I'm using a similar method to that. I don't have the Star Wars DVDs so I'm not sure if that is exactly like the Sith lightning so if it's not, please tell me.
Anyway I am having a little bit of trouble with getting the lightning to come towards the screen. I'm not sure how to describe it so here's a screenshot:
How do I get the lines of electricity to come towards the bottom of the canvas instead of going horizontal across it? Or can that not be done?

I dont believe you can rotate the actual texture. So no, I don think the lightning can be rotated.

You can't rotate the textures from within the program, but you can do it manually. You have to open the texture file in an image editor, such as Photoshop, rotate it 90 degrees, then save it.
Then use the new file you have saved as the texture for your effect. Actually, now that I think about it, aren't there horizontal and vertical electrical arcs included in the texture files? Use the electric_arc_vert files as your textures, and the lightning will be pointed the other way.

Yeah... what axeman said is the way to do it. What you have so far looks like its coming at the screen. If you just rotate so textures it will be awesome I rekon.http://www.adobe.com/products/tryadobe/main.jsp#product=39
You can find a demo of photoshop here

I don't think you need to rotate them manually. If you look at all the textures that comes with Elab you'll see that there's three lightning textures pointed vertical, and three textures pointed horisontal.. Just use the vertical lightning-textures. (If that doesn't work, try only the horisontal then) It worked for me.. Looking forward to it!
