I wasn't sure where to put this but. When I try to clear the cache on either Compositelab Pro, or Effectlab Pro it doesn't do anything. I had to manually clean up the cache. Not sure if its just me or everbody has this problem.

I'm assuming that:

* you're using 'Clear entire disk cache' from the 'Playback' menu in order to clear the cache?

* you're looking at the "cache" folder on your hard disk in order to see whether it actually deleted the folders/files underneath it?

One thing to be aware of is that the programs can't delete folders/files if they are currently in use. E.g. if you have a project open and you clear the disk cache, it won't delete the files that are still in use.

Also, have you changed the disk cache folder (in the 'Preferences' screen) to somewhere else apart from the default?

you can push, reset entire disk cache, and that makes everything have to preview render again...yeah

I am using the clear entire disk catche button. I checked to see if the folder got changed, but it didn't and I didn't have any projects opened at the time. When I checked the folder after hitting the button I had 1.5gb there. Guess it has been building up instead of cleaning it when using the clear cache option.

I'm sorry for bumping this topic because I know it's really old, but I'm experiencing the same problem so I thought I'd comment here instead of starting a new thread.

When I check the cache folder located, i suppose by default, in my my documents folder, it says it is taking up about 2 GB of memory. All the files inside that folder are .tga's. They read canvas_##.tga. They don't clear out when I open the program and hit clear cache. I'm hoping I can just delete these manually. Can these be deleted to make room or are they required for Effectslab to run properly?

You should be able to delete these files manually, with out repercussions, yes. As long as you have not changed the cache directory, the path is C:\Documents and Settings\<User Account>\My Documents\FXhome\EffectsLab Pro\cache. Open the cache folder, and delete the contents; be sure to not delete the cache folder itself.

I have tried the clear entire cache feature as well, and it does not seem to functioning for me either. I will be sure to bring it up to the guys. Until this gets sorted, following the above instructions will work just fine, and should not cause any problems.

Give it a try.
