Hi

I'm making a movie and i need a good title.

Right now it's called Police Special Forces, and it fits the movie quite good but i don't really like it. confused

It's an action/sci-fi movie that takes place in a near future where the police has gotten more "power" and does much more dangerous things, like special tasks and stuff (i know it's stupid)

I'd really like some help with the title.

Thanks for reading,

"You have the right to remain silence..."

"For your protection"

"Death Squad"

"The future of the law"

"Law enforcement 2025 AD"

...

Very difficult from a small synopsis ! Hope you like any of them smile

Cheers,

"Law enforcement 2025 AD" sounds good... The other ones are also pretty good.

Thanks,

just chop off the "police" and call it "special forces"

but i like the "law enforcement 2025" title better, however it does put a kidna serious title on the movie, giving the actually movie somthing to live up to.

1. How could you ever feel satisfied using a title someone else came up with?

2. I wouldn't put the words "Law, Police, etc." in the title.

3. Why aim for something so specific for a title? Find something catchy and cool.

When you say "dangerous things, special tasks", what specifically do you mean?

Do they come in as a last resort? Like a "zombie squad"? Clean up a mess that no regular cop would do? Name it "The Cleaners" or something like that.

Basically, instead of the title reflecting who they are, think in terms of what they do.

I made a rank list so it's easier to see what i mean:

Police > Normal police stuff.

Military > War. (And some other things.)

Special Forces > Leading the military, special task like assasination missions.

The reason it was called police special forces was because the ones that are selected for the Special Forces, is police officers with a lot of potential.

Hope it makes sense. confused

Thanks for the help,
Shin925

PS. I'm pretty sure theres a movie called Special Forces.

There probably is a Special Forces movie out there, but if you settle on that title, you won't get sued for it. Movie and book titles can't be copyrighted but the script or story is.

As far as the ranked stuff, take "leading" and use that. Like the videogame First To Fight. Use something like that as the title.

Or since there is a military tone involved, try "Fireteam Alpha (or Bravo, Charlie, Zulu etc.)".

Hey try Alpha Squadron
Go with something original that doesn't give away the plot, but gives a hint

Since you are making law enforcement why don't you make it something along the lines of "When Law Points it's Gun."

I don't know if it fits the movie but it sounds like a good title.

In the future? Go Minority Report-style and make the name about a miniscule part of the plot, so much so that the name attracts a sort of mystique. In this case, you could radomly have some laws, ammendments, etc. in the film you could title the movie by.

"The 2,000th Ammendment"

"Law:420"

"Report 2520"

Something like that.

Well, of those you state, I'd go with Delta Elite. The Annihilation one sounds like an 80's Shwarznegger movie like Commando.

My advice ADOID the following:

1) Avoid shortening it to three letters... IT HAS BEEN DONE
2) Avoid "Special Forces" its tacky, un-original and really unless your showing something a SPECIAL forces unit would actualy do... its just false advertising...

Eg. Guys in Armor raiding a house that may have armed men and a bomb is not special force worthy... thats SWAT or possibly A.B.D. but again avoid 3 letter combinations.

Thats my advice, if you wana video that people with go "hmmm original and cool" as opposed to "interesintg but nothing new"

feel free to dissagree.

out of those 3 choices, Delta Elite is the better one

BUT consider:

1) are the things in your movie actualy somethign a Elite unit would do?

2) will there be any reference to Alpha, Beta, Gamma Elite? If so how? if not, Why not?

3) Is Delta Elite a good title for the film or just something that sounds cool that people will swallow easly.

Remember its your film, its up to you to give this project the best you can.

I got it:

G.I. Joe: An American Hero.

It combines functionality, with patriotism and lettered-initials. (G.I.J.)

Dude, there ain´t nothing silly or stupid about themes for movies(and this is coming from somebody who makes stop-animation movies as a hobby and one of my main characters is a gumby figure) Your movies are an extension of your creative talents, which by the way, by the description you´re giving about it i´m actually curious to know more. But anyway, in making titles i´m actually very good, and if the police characters in your movies are overly aggressive, well, "Excessive Force" would be a good thing, or mix and match, "Excessive Force: Law & Order", or "Excessive Force: Law & Disorder"(with the "Dis" painted in front of the word "Order" kinda like graffitti. "Justice Squad" and under the title you could have the promo phrase: RESISTING ARREST WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!!! I´d keep going on and on, the title has to be striking, but it doesn´t have to give away vital details, or if you want to go a little more violent well, "LAW" and then the promo phrase: PAYING FOR YOUR CRIME MIGHT MEAN PAYING WITH YOUR LIFE!!! Stuff like that. listen if you need any help just let me know. Who knows, you might even be able to help me with my filmmaking techniques.

"delta elite" sounds like a chuck norris classic.

If your going to give it a title, i'd highly reccomend trying to come up with one not so "80's actioner" sounding..unless you were planning on making it campy..
