New installers for the Windows and Mac versions of all FXhome products are now available. It is recommended that all users update their software at the earliest opportunity.

This will be the first time our brand new auto-update system kicks in. If you launch any of the v939 programs then they should automatically detect this new update. They will then give you the option to download and install the update via the program. Please try out this new streamlined install and tell us how it goes.

Alternatively you can still manually download installers by clicking here.

This is a big update with many new/improved features including:

• Multiple language support! You can now use the programs in English, Italian, Spanish, French or German. If you speak these languages, please give us feedback on the translation quality and alternatives for the few places where the current translation strings are too long.

• Massively improved save/load times.

• Significantly improved copy & paste system which should make working on the timeline much easier.

• Redesigned speed tools are now far more useful. Access it from an object's menu to change speed and re-time keyframes, using either a percentage or timecode value.

• Fixed an issue with the Day-for-Night filter. If you have old versions of the Bright Sun, Red Alert Pro or Lights Out presets, please delete them and download the new versions. Existing projects using the filter will need the gamma slider adjusted.

• Fixed a blending issue with the Light Spill filter. Existing projects may need to have their Light Spill blend option reset.

• Lots of other tweaks and improvements to masks, image and media support, rendering and the interface in general. Check the changelogs for full details.

Enjoy!

NOTE : Problems with the auto-update system for some users have caused us to switch it off for this release. We'll be working to sort this out for the next release, for now update manually as you have before. Thanks.

We've switched off the auto-update for now until we get to the bottom of the bug which affecting updating on some people'e machines. Check the following link for more information http://fxhome.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=223139#223139

I'm sure we'll get this sorted in the next release as it seems to be a annoying bug only appearing on some machines and not causing problems to the general running of the program.

This update problem with version 1.0.939 does not mean you shouldn't upgrade to 1.0.945. In fact, make sure you do as it is the best update yet with fantastic new features and lots of fixes!

Have fun.

I think schwar was refering to the Day-for-Night filter built into VisionLab. There shouldn't be anything that needs fixing with your preset. Only the Bright Sun, Red Alert Pro or Lights Out presets need re-downloading if you have downloaded them before.

The new version does not load. The old version loads perfectly and the new version hangs on the splash screen and I did a total uninstall and reinstall as per the instructions. Any ideas? Had to go back to old version which btw I bought yesterday.

Darn. Well, I still made a nifty DFN filter.

Just downloaded the updates guys and all seems to have gone ok (my first time at installing an update for CompositePro and EffectsLab Pro so was a bit nervous!). My previous projects still reopen ok which is good to see!

Just one tiny gripe...the language option is good but I wish I didn't have to pick US English - can't we just have English or even a UK English option? wink

Thanks for your hard work in keeping the programs updated and for delivering such great software.

Sorry been away for a while...

So I wish to ask, if you will support the Intel based macs, now that they are phasing out their product lines...

I have an intel based mac and wish to know if you are working on a new version EffectsLab...

And if you will update your specs site, to mention that not all Intel macs can run the app...

And if you are working on the new version, any date?

As far as I know Intel Macs can can run the current software - I'm sure someone else on FXhome was already running it on an Intel Mac.

We plan to work on Universal binaries much later in the year.
