I'm looking for someone to help me out with making a pillow fluff/feather preset. If anyone can do this or give me a tutorial on how to make stock footage to do this I would love it smile

(The shot I want to make will involve someone shooting through a mattress and the exit point will have fluff fly out of it.)

I'd suggest trying this as a practical effect, thusly:

Run a piece of fishing line through a hole in a pillowcase, tie it to some of the fluff inside, and pull it out. Alternately, tie something to the end of the string, such as a large button, which will pull some fluff out when you pull on it.

Or, run a piece of tube up behind the pillow, and inside. Line it up with the hole, put some fluff in front of the end of the tube, and give a good puff on the other end of the tube.

You could film this as stock, or just film it as you film the actual scene, if you can put a hole in the mattress.
