Hello fellow fxhomers I have a very strange problem and could use some help. Often times when I click onto the fxhome forums, my computers internet just kind of like gets screwd up. The only fix I found so far is restarting my pc. It doesnt happen on any other computers in my house and all cables are properly connected. Everything seems fine except it happens Id say atleast 50 percent of the time I click onto the forums. Im posting this as this is one of the times it doesnt disconnect.
I should also say this doesnt (atleast hasnt yet) happened at any other website. Anyone have any idea what could be my problem?
I also forgot to say when Im running Windows XP Media Center Edition on
HP Media Center PC
P4 3.2 ghz ht
sound blaster audigy 4 pro
Thanks in advance

Try using a different browser and see if you still get the problem. Also, is your browser up-to-date?

How is the computer connected to the Internet (internal dial-up modem, USB WiFi, ethernet, etc)? Do you have any firewalling software that might be trying to block certain content? Does it always disconnect on the same pages, or is it just random?

Im using the newest version of Opera. Ill try internet explorer then. It always seems to disconnect when I click the Community tab to go to the forums. Im connected by cable modem through a router. I have all firewalls turned off so that shouldn't be a problem.

Is it your cable modem that actually loses the connection, or is it the computer itself that disconnects? I assume you are connected to your router via ethernet? Are you using an internal ethernet NIC? I used to have an external USB ethernet jobby that would disconnect all the time if it got overloaded.
