Is ADV 1 free? If not, how do i buy it?

Ok, so from the other threads i got the idea that i'm not the only one who'd rather use ADV 1. i'm not arguing 1 is better, it's just that i *way* prefer it

But that still leaves the question, how do i get a registered version of 1? And what happened to the email address that let me talk to the guys who take the money? How do i find them?

i'm so confused
- If i buy ADV 2, will they give me a serial # for ADV 1 with it?
- Will the ADV 2 serial work on ADV 1?
- If it's not supported and can't be purchased, will they give free serial numbers away? (it's not like they're making money on it, and given the community effort, i don't know if this is a for-mega-profit endeavor)
- Should i put my movie on hold and wait for an ADV 3? (hopefully soon)

Seriously, i don't want to complain about ADV 2, it's just that i went to type in my credit card # last night and found that i physically could not purchase ADV 1, and i'm not willing to pay for ADV 2. i *will* however, pay for ADV 2 if they throw in ADV 1 with it

Wasn't the deal that if you bought one version you got the next 2 for free? Can that work backwards?

Alternately, anyone know another tool that can easily add muzzle flashes and explosions? (probably shouldn't ask that on a AlamDV forum)

By the way, i know there isn't an ADV 2 manual, but someone suggested the ADV2 tutorial forum. But it doesn't have any tutorials, just people talking about writing them. Are the in-progress tutorials out there somewhere else?

Sorry to be a pain, sorry i don't like ADV 2, sorry i'm poor, sorry that even after several hours using it i still don't understand ADV 2 at *all*, sorry i'm a newbie, sorry my movies suck, sorry i'm sorry tard

well im not trying to be an @sshole, but im pretty sure that there are like 20 post on this board that alamdv is no longer supported. i guess its really up to malone and schwar wether they want to help you but why would anyone want to go backwards on software. If thats the case then why even put out new version. Just sound kinda rediculous to me.

But thats just my opinion

Baylor if the only reason you want dv1 is because you dont know dv2 then stop whinning about it and start learning it. I'm sure you didn't just jump into dv1 and know exactly what to do. Their may be better things in dv1 but im sure all around dv2 is way better. Besides enev if you got ver 1 this site isn't going to support it. That means no plug-ins, help files, updates, nothing. And even malone said that the Alamdv1 support forum is going to bite the bullet.

1. I duon't think alamdv1 is downloadable anymore...

2. There are 3 tutorials in the tutorial section. 2 of which you mentioned you wanted: muzzle flashes and explosions. check again, they are there.

3. No you don't get ADV1 free with an ADV2 purchase. If you want, i'm sure schwar would be happy to cut a deal with you: but don't go complaining to him when no one answers your questions about ADV1 and you realize you can't download any plug-ins.

4. Steve Jobs just recently said: "OS 9 is dead", even though many people enjoy it a little better than OS X. I think if Steve Jobs can say the OS that he had recently released 2 years ago is dead, than so can I. AlamDV1 is dead. period. like it or not, software has to move forward to meet the needs of other users.

Personally, with the addition of the AlamDV1 style effect button, I don't see any reason why AlamDV1 is better.

EDIT: AlamDV3?? We can only wish... besides: the final version of AlamDV2 hasn't even been released yet!

I am sorry I am going to have to offend you - you have to be a complete twat not to be able to add muzzle flashes etc in AlamDV2. I know this because I happen to be a complete twat myself and managed to work it out very easily. Muzzle flashes have to be probably one of the easiest plugins of them all to use. I did this all before the tutorial section existed. Give it another go. Apply yourself and suprise yourself.

Hey what is this website doing? I type the word t-w-a-t and it changes it to fool for me. Amazing .... is it a special translator for offensive words so all nationalities can understand them? Brilliant for a twat like me ... doh there it goes again.

i have been reading this forum since sept. 2000. i have noticed that the replies to innocent questions are getting ruder and ruder. i myself like dv1, not because dv1 is better, or because i cant figure dv2 out, but because when i purchased dv2 nowhere did it say it must run in 32 bit mode and my comp doesn't run 32 bit. so maybe before people start lashing out at the people who ask the questions, take the time and find out what the whole story is...

sad

AlamDV1 great though it was, is gone now. I loved the program, but now have loved to use DV2. You can too. Please lock this subject.

Cheers

Yea, i'm gonna lock this. We don't need a debate about whether DV1 or Dv2 is better. Soo... no more asking about 'where can i buy it, and where do i download it.' you can't do either. I'm not trying to be mean, but i was talking to schwar in the chat the other day and he made it pretty clear this is basically the end of AlamDV1.

AlamDV2 is workin pretty good now. check the development forum for all the cool new features that are being worked into 2.08!
